We always live our time at Stars Hollow and this trip to the Honeybee Cottage was no different! My kiss and I had a peaceful and relaxing weekend hiking and visiting with the animals. They loved helping Dan with chores and seeing the baby chickens. So much to do and such a beautiful place to do it. Can't wait for our next visit.

Our granddaughter discovered this natural retreat, just the shinrinyoku forest bath-type place we both connect with. Penny's welcoming smile and personality showed throughout the property. Liv and I tried to pinpoint what we liked best, but there was no one thing. The following come to mind quickly: tadpoles in the pond, which includes a waterfall, chairs beside the pond, where we were able to easily make a fire in the pit, well-groomed trails in the woodlands, animals living an idyllic life, including a dog we called Lassie who led us, well, Liv more than me, into the creek to explore. We weren't interested in restaurants because we had a tote filled with our favorites, such as Prairie Breeze white cheddar from another Iowa treasure, Milton Creamery. Sincerely, G-ma

I finally got to return for my second visit to Honeybee cottage after trying to get dates that matched! Such a popular property for good reason! I LOVE the pond, the hiking/biking trails nearby, sitting on the porch drinking tea, warming myself by the fire and having everything I need in the kitchen. I saw deer out my window and a bald eagle fly over my head. Penny is so hospitable and creative! She is an outstanding hostess!! You will not want to come just once. I can’t wait to return!

This was such an amazing stay. Penny and Dan are awesome. Penny responded quickly... they had so many different animals and some dogs and the cutest cat (they asked if we were okay with dogs so if you aren't an animal lover, there are no worries). We had a blast walking the trails, enjoying wine in the greenhouse, and racing the pig up and down the fence. We can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy the pond, canoes, kayaks, etc.
