We also have all the supplies you need for a fire -- barbecue tools, grill, kindling, firestarters and lighter, Solo stove Your site has table / chairs by the fire and in front for stargazing -- but you are also welcome to share our covered 30 foot tongue and groove pine covered pergola with teak farmhouse dining tables, patio heaters, Edison lights and candles to use your barbecue grill or camp stove or enjoy a meal. THE BED The bed is low (no airspace to get cold) and on an insulation layer. A frame would make it colder in the Winter so we removed it. It's a new bamboo charcoal mildew resistant mattress and protected with a mite proof cover. Lots of cushions and fur flotaki rugs Teak vintage and live edge furniture inlaid with turquoise. A fireplace heater helps take the chill out of the morning as you roll out of bed and make tea or pour over with the Bodum electric pot we provide. Power strip and power for device charging. Your cellphone works. We have wifi on pergola. The tent is fully zipped with double layers of bug netting. It's not a flimsy tent -- it's surprisingly WARM in sunlight during the day. Usually warmer than our house! It is pristine -- we vacuum it with a Dyson Animal portable vacuum. (Bugs get slurped up, but we can't guarantee no bugs -- this is after all, camping!) We protect it from insects with natural Neem oil, Diatomaceous earth, and the Stout itself is treated to resist 500 strains of mildew. In cooler weather when fires are permitted by Cal Fire, the Yurt has a private stone sacred fire circle and we have a grill for cooking over the fire and skewers to roast s'mores. (Marshmellows, graham, skewers and quality chocolate provided.) In hot weather, we have a small cold plunge pool, and the jurt is very breezy because you can roll up the entire perimeter to expose netting and create a breeze all the way around. ABOUT THE AREA Our very private 5 acre Zen Modern Farmhouse is literally on a hidden knoll, 1250 feet up a paved private road that looks like Lombard Street-- with a sweeping view overlooking the wine country towards from Napa and Mt. St. Helena to Cobb Mountain. Geothermal steam geysers from Bottle Rock are often visible in the distance on clear days. Our hilltop is possibly an extinct volcanic cinder cone. This area is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire and resembles the mountains of the Big Island of Hawaii. The stillness and serenity and red volcanic soil here also remind me of another vortex -- Sedona, Arizona. Perhaps this is why this area has been an epicenter of New Age gurus, mindfulness and yoga retreats for a century. Guests say they feel calm and centered in this yurt, placed in the exact center of the cone. THE PROPERTY Property is a simple unpretentious 40 year old farmhouse, fully restored in 2023 in what we call Zen Modern Farmhouse style -- with typical sparse, reclaimed materials, but has updated modern amenities. Landscaping is fire safe, sparse... native oak forest, native grass, moss, and native stone boulders. It is perfect for a personal spiritual retreat, sacred medicine ceremony, meditation, or romantic couple's retreat. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS Walk down the hill and take a walk past a pond with egrets, and hills higher than ours with even better views of Hidden Valley Lake. (Accessible on foot on a long walk.)
