Alex/Kate sent plenty of details in advance. Location was easy to find. Multiple door codes and locks on bedrooms for security. The location was as described; more worn down than the posted photos though. This place reminded me of a hostel--expect other guests there and sharing the small common space and bathrooms. This means it will only be as clean as the other people using it, can't blame the host if those guests are not cleaning up in the kitchen, bathroom, hallways/entrance. The location alone is worth the price--an affordable spot to sleep in the Bronx that felt safe. I wouldn't plan on spending time there: not much common space, no TV, table to eat/play games/etc.; this is just a good spot to sleep at. You will need to climb a few flights of stairs so not good for mobility issues. There were some minor maintenance issues in the house that were mostly cosmetic: dusty gaps in the vinyl floor, loose toilet seat, shower rod coming unscrewed, chipping drawer surface, all minor stuff.

Alex and Kate are very good hosts! They are providing a nice service and very cozy, clean and comfortable place! I recommend!
