Welcome to the charming Vista Knolls House. This two-bedroom, one bathroom Nevada County retreat is nestled on 10 private acres of gentle old-growth woodland. Our home is located just 25 minutes from Nevada City and 5 minutes from the South Fork of the Yuba River. The interior is thoughtfully decorated and furnished making the space perfect for guests looking to relax in comfort. The Vista Knolls House is a uniquely peaceful home full of sunlight that will put you at ease. The house is perfect for guests that want to get away and enjoy a swim in the Yuba River, star gaze, connect with nature, and relax in a comfortable space. Our home has a welcoming and open design that blends indoor living with nature. The main entry to the house has a covered porch which invites you through the front door. Once inside the house there is a workspace that opens into the full kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a beautiful meal including a gas range, appliances, and a wide variety of kitchen utensils. The dining area features a table with seating for six and a large glass sliding door overlooking the rear covered deck and backyard. Just past the dining room is the large living area with seating oriented around the fireplace, vaulted ceilings, abundant natural light, a custom hand-built loft stair, and an exterior deck overlooking the property. The primary bedroom and loft are accessible off the living space and both feature king sized beds, closet storage, and fresh linens. The primary bedroom also features a private balcony overlooking the garden and forest. The exterior of The Vista Knolls House seamlessly blends the interior living space with the natural beauty of the property. Every door opens to a deck with an inviting view of nature. The landscaping includes rock pathways, mature plants and trees, outdoor seating, a firepit and BBQ, and a two-person hot tub. Let the muscles decompress in the deep massaging hot tub under moonlit grape vines while breathing in the fresh mountain air. The manager, Ben, was super responsive. Any question any time of day was immediately answered. (How does he do that?) The place looked like the photos, very clean and feeling quite new. Note there is no dishwasher or microwave, but the kitchen is fairly well equipped. The property feels private, if you look carefully out the front you can maybe see a piece of road in the distance between the trees, but out the back and sides there is nothing but a gently sloping, forested hillside. Perfect for my desire to get away in privacy. That fireplace is controlled by a conventional thermostat on the wall, and it not only looks cozy but heats effectively.
This was an excellent place to escape the city at. Quiet and serene. Most stores are about 25-30 minutes away, so plan on packing the food you’d like to cook prior to getting there! Absolutely stunning property.
My first reaction was wow we are way out in the forest. There were neighbors, and all the amenities you would expect. Well I suppose if there had been 5 ot 6 of us we’d have wanted a second bath room or half bath. There was a good gas/wood stove so good heat and plenty of on demand hot water. We enjoyed our stay.
The Vista Knolls House was perfect for the weekend! It felt private, peaceful and serene. The home is surrounded by nature and has warm, natural light streaming through the windows. We watched a herd of deer walk through the property in the morning, and the garden was full of butterflies. The layout is open and cozy and we felt right at home. It’s also just a short drive to Yuba river Ben was very helpful and responsive, and check in/out was so easy. We’ll definitely be back!
This place was exactly what we were looking for….a very clean, bright, modern/quaint space with attention to detail, and some of the comforts of home like super soft bath towels, and one of the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. The property is peaceful, with plenty of nature to see out every window— deer and other wildlife stroll close to the house. Also, it’s nice to have the ability to go into town if you want. Thanks Ben- we will be back!
