My wife and I enjoyed our stay here at Ellwood, the place is done very nicely and it was a great place to spend my 26th birthday! Very unique and cool place.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ellwood boxhop. The location was perfect for a get away. Beautiful surroundings, easy to get to all of the Hocking Hills parks. We enjoyed some downtime in the mid century decorated house. The hot tub, Solo fire pit, games and just hanging out gave us plenty to do. I will definitely rent another boxhop from Emily and Seth.
My stay at the Ellwood was wonderful from beginning to end! Getting in and out was super easy and Emily and Seth are terrific hosts. They have literally thought of everything. Especially in the bedroom, I felt like I was sleeping in a tree house and the waterfall under the home is magical. I can only imagine how nice it will be when the leaves are on the trees.

The Hocking Hills is an area of the Allegheny Plateau in Appalachian Ohio, primarily in Hocking County, that features cliffs, gorges, rock shelters, and waterfalls. The relatively extreme topography in this area is due to the Blackhand Sandstone (so named because of Native American graphics on the formation near Newark, Ohio), a particular formation that is thick, hard and weather-resistant, and so forms high cliffs and narrow, deep gorges.
The driveway is a long gravel driveway. With any inclement weather, we recommend an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle. The driveway is maintained by a local company, but we want to be sure that you are aware.
