Our stay with Shawn and Laura was lovely. They are super friendly and helpful and right on site next door so if you ever need anything they are right there to answer questions or show you around. The house had everything that we needed and was super comfortable temperature in at night. The natural pool was a hit with our kids (it was raining in the evenings and was full of frogs and they enjoyed catching tadpoles for hours!) There are amazing birds everywhere including lots of hummingbirds at the feeders and we saw howler monkeys, toucans, aracaris, capuchins and even a jaguarundi on the drive up! The walking paths are great and there is a beautiful waterfall on the drive up (recommend going!) - you definitely need a 4x4 to get here and bring earplugs (like I did!) for sleeping as there are loud frogs, owls and howler monkeys. It’s a beautiful view and close to Ojachal for supplies. The wifi is fast. They are very eco friendly and our only hosts so far to provide recycling (thank you!)

We LOVED this place! The house is absolutely beautifully built, the natural pool was refreshing and oh-so-intriguing (as it attracts all sorts of curious wildlife!). The bedrooms are spacious and cool off nicely in the evenings and the VIEWS!!!! Spectacular from all angles! Jungle everywhere you look and we saw so many jungle critters—from a wide variety of birds to monkeys to Koatis to little critters like frogs and snakes (that only come out at night, so don’t worry!). A week was not nearly long enough and we can’t wait to come back! And the hosts are simply a fantastic couple. We made some new friends, for sure! Also, we thought the drive up to the house might be a bit daunting or too far, but it’s literally 10 minutes from the highway and easy with a 4x4, so REALLY easy to get to town for supplies. Lastly, there are so many things to do in the immediate area, so that was a huge bonus. This didn’t feel like an Air BnB to us, it felt like hanging out at a friend’s place!
