There are three beautiful bedrooms, a stylish lounge and a dining room that is made for enjoying delicious feasts together. Not only that, but you’re also perfectly placed to enjoy all that Sherborne has to offer, while day trips to Waymouth Beach and walks along the Jurassic Coast are within easy reach. The townhouse begins with a grand hallway featuring high ceilings, sash windows and period panelling which are a true sign of what the rest of the house has in store. Venture into the lounge where you will be greeted by glistening chandeliers, moody colour tones and an abundance of natural light. It’s the perfect place to celebrate and socialise or you can simply relax with a book in hand or your favourite programme on the Smart TV. Meanwhile, the kitchen is equipped with everything you will need to prepare your meals, including an electric oven, an induction hob, a coffee machine, a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a breakfast table. If you don’t feel like cooking, an excellent private chef is available to book via our Guest Services team. Privately catered meals and delicious banquets can be enjoyed in the neighbouring dining room, complete with a grand six-seater table and beautiful antiques. If you require a quiet space to work or read during your stay, the study is the perfect place to retreat to with its sumptuous Chesterfield sofa and desk space. The house features three uniquely designed bedrooms with opulent interiors and the highest quality bed linen for a comfortable night’s sleep. On the first floor, there is a queen-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, while the second floor has a large king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom with views of the historic high street. There is also a luxurious family bathroom with a walk-in shower and a large free-standing bath. The townhouse is also the perfect base for wedding parties and brides getting married in the area, especially in The Sherborne Abbey.
Set in the beautiful medieval town of Sherborne, the townhouse is within walking distance of lots of lovely things to see and do. From the property, a private exit leads to Cheap Street, known for its range of independent shops, while Pageant Park has a bandstand where summertime performances often take place. To absorb some of the town’s fascinating history, there’s also Sherborne Abbey (a 2 minute walk away), Sherborne Old Castle and, next to it, Sherborne New Castle.
There is a brilliant selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs in this beautiful town, including Café D’Urbeville which offers locally sourced food, drinks and cakes. The Green Restaurant is also a great place for families and friends to indulge in delicious food, light bites, local beers and handcrafted cocktails.
A little bit further, within a 30-minute drive, you can enjoy visits to Haynes International Motor Museum, Shaftesbury Gold Hill, the Royal Navy Fleet Air Museum, Minterne Gardens, Tintinhull Garden and the Cerne Abbas Giant.
If you want to get out and explore the countryside and the coast, there are plenty of ways to do so locally. For walking there’s The Monarch’s Way and McMillan Way, while the National Cycle Route 26 is also nearby. Or head out to explore the Jurassic Coast along the South West Coastal Path. The nearest beach is in Weymouth, only around 50 minutes’ drive away from the house.
The townhouse is a 5-minute walk from the train station which has a direct connection to Waterloo of just over two hours, making it the perfect destination for a weekend escape.
A car is not essential for travelling, but you do have access to parking in a public car space that’s just a 2-minute walk from the property.
