A cosy, private space attached to the owners' home with free parking and boasts fabulous views of Cheddar Gorge. Overlooking the small lake in CENTRAL Cheddar, it's a very short walk to shops, pubs, caves and the Gorge. It has designated areas for sleeping, cooking, relaxing and showering. The private outside space is landscaped with a courtyard patio; just a couple of steps up, and a larger patio at the top accessed by a longer flight of steps - views are amazing from here! The annex is on one level and the main door opens straight into the kitchen and sofa area. Here you can cook and relax looking up to views of the gorge. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a meal and includes washing machine and fridge. Please note that there is no dishwasher. The bed space, overlooking the garden area, has a king size bed, mirrored sliding door wardrobe and 2 small bedside cabinets. In between these two areas is the shower room and toilet.

Had a really wonderful week at Lake View. The accommodation is cosy and so thoughtfully designed it is extremely comfortable for two people with everything you could need plus some extra touches that were very much appreciated. The furnishings and decor are to a very high standard with a big comfy bed and great shower. Everything is spotless and clean. Alison and Joe are really friendly and helpful and gave us lots of useful information about the local area and beyond. Cheddar is lovely with lots to do and good cafes and restaurants. Gorge Cafe, Zen Thai and La Rocca all excellent and within a few minutes walk. We highly recommend and won’t hesitate to book again if in the area.

This is a perfect little private apartment in a beautiful location and situated in a fantastic location to walk to Cheddar Gorge and take advantage of all the local bars, shops, restaurants and attractions. Everything was spotlessly clean and the apartment is finished to a very high standard. Hosts Joe and Alison are superb - friendly, helpful and the perfect hosts who kept in touch throughout our stay to ensure everything was OK. We had a fab little 3 night break and we would highly recommend this place.
We had a lovley stay for my husband’s 50th location was right in the middle everything cheddar has to offer right on your doorstep, we particularly enjoy La rocca italian which is a 1 minute walk , we didn’t use our car all weekend as we planned to do the walks and caves in cheddar. Accommodation was fantastic just right for 2 people, Joe and Alison thought of everything couldn’t fault it, i would 100% recommend to any couple seeking a peaceful relaxing stay who want to explore cheddar caves and walks .
Absolutely delighted with our stay at Jo and Allison's Airbnb! We spent five incredible nights here, and we simply couldn't get enough of it. The reality surpassed the already stunning pictures - it was a true gem. Privacy was paramount, and Jo and Allison ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The attention to detail in supplying essentials made our experience truly seamless. And with Cheddar Gorge right in front of us, the view from the Airbnb was breath-taking, adding an extra layer of tranquillity to our stay. We were spoiled for choice with activities. It was the perfect backdrop for our babymoon - every moment felt like a dream. In essence, Joe and Allison's Airbnb felt like a true home away from home. We left feeling rejuvenated, grateful for the wonderful memories created in such a magical place. We can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience.

Cheddar is famous for it's Gorge walks, caves, it's famous Cheddar Cheese shop and factory, and Jacob's Ladder - 274 steps leading up to the top of the Gorge. There are a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The local supermarket is Sainsburys and Tesco Express, all within walking distance of Lake View. The Reservoir is central to Cheddar and Axbridge (nearby Medieval Village) and you can park up and walk around its perimeter which is about 2 miles. The Strawberry Line (cycling track) starts from Cheddar and finishes in Yatton. This is a must for cyclists with great places to stop on route for a drink/eat. Cheddar is also not far from Wells; visit the amazing Cathedral and The Bishop's Palace which has been home to the Bishop of Bath and Wells for 800 years. There is also a market in Wells every Wednesday and Saturday. Glastonbury is 11 miles away; take a walk up the famous Tor and a walk down the high street to get a real sense of Glastonbury.
It is also only approx 15-20 min drive to Bristol Airport, and Weston Super Mare about 10 miles away.
Every Sunday there is a very popular car boot sale and market just on the outskirts of the village. It is £2 to park your car there, or you can walk from our location which would be about 30-40 min.
Ham Wall, the RSPB Nature Reserve is a 25 min drive. Here you can see the famous murmurations of starlings - Dec and Jan are months where there are a higher volume of the birds. This is a spectacular sight to see.
Clarks Village in Street, which is the other side of Glastonbury, is a shopping mall which hosts many designer and high street shopping brands.
Our holiday rental is central so you can just leave your car in our free parking space that we offer and walk to all the amenities that Cheddar has to offer. The Reservoir is a longer walk (about half an hour), but there is free parking if you want to drive.

We are a husband and wife team who live at the property and manage the holiday let ourselves so we can be on hand to welcome guests and make sure their stay is comfortable and enjoyable. We love our Cheddar location and look forward to sharing this with our guests, particularly the wildlife that you see on the lake - herons, ducks and egrets are regular visitors!
