My wife and I booked an Airbnb from May 1-13 but arrived to find the apartment already occupied. We heard loud music and voices coming from inside. After contacting the host, Hartman, he apologized and said he'd resolve it. Co-host Israel offered a temporary place for the night. The substitute apartment was in a deplorable state - unclean kitchen, empty beer bottles, dirty clothes on the beds, and soiled towels in the bathrooms. Hartman agreed to cancel and we contacted Airbnb. The Airbnb support team responded promptly, providing a phone number to speak with an operator. After the conversation we decided to leave the apartment. Airbnb's support team was incredibly helpful. Within 30 minutes, they confirmed the details and assured me of a full refund within 48 hours. our experience with the host, particularly the co-host, was awful. It appears there was a lack of communication between them, resulting in our apartment being overbooked from the beginning.
