The Galena Territory Highlights
There are 32 miles of trails that go over hills, ravines, ridge tops, woodlands, and meadows. The trails near Eagle Ridge and the golf courses are paved and are suitable for jogging, walking and similar activities. Several lookout platforms and towers provide views of Lake Galena as well as panoramas of the stunning countryside. Signage is located throughout the trail system including distance and distance to amenities. Trail maps are available at Eagle Ridge, the Owner's Club, and the Marina,
No matter the season, Lake Galena boasts some of the best fishing in the Midwest. Here you will find smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, bluegill, channel catfish, perch, crappie, trout, and tiger muskie. Many wildlife species also frequent Lake Galena including eagles, ospreys, great blue herons, white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, red foxes, and otters. The Marina offers boat rentals, fuel, and fishing licenses. The Bait & Takle Shop stocks live bait, lures, and rods and reels. Need a boat? There are boats for rent including pontoons, fishing boats, and single and tandem kayaks and canoes. Reservations are suggested and a deposit is required.
Those wanting another way to enjoy the outdoors can take zip line tours at nearby Long Hollow Canopy Tours. Or get an eagle's eye view with Galena On The Fly. Prepare to lift off in one of the most massive hot air balloons in the country. Drift above the rolling landscapes of The Galena Territory while taking in views of Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin from 3,000 feet in the air.
If you would rather relax, visit the newly built world class Stonedrift Spa right in the Galena Territory located near the 10th hole of the North Golf Course. The Stonedrift Spa provides signature spa treatments, services and therapies.
Galena Territory is the perfect golf destination. In addition to 63 manicured holes courses, Eagle ridge offers a grill and golf shop.
The Galena Territory has two restaurants, The Highlands offering light lunches, woodfired favorites, indulgent dinner entrees and vegan offerings and the Woodlands Restaurant with beautiful views of Lake Galena offering seasonal cuisine using local ingredients.
The Galena Territory also has a Country Store at the entrance where you can have a Starbucks coffee and pick up any essentials you may have forgotten.
The GTA Owner's Club overlooks a wide valley in the heart of the Galena Territory and provides year-round recreational opportunities. Amenities include: state-of-the-art Fitness Center, seasonal Owner's Club Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, 3 pools both indoor and outdoor, locker room area, video arcade, pool and ping pong tables, tennis courts, and basketball courts. If you enjoy horseback riding, visit the Galena Territory's Shenandoah Riding Center. Experience the Territory on horseback and take in the captivating views, majestic sunsets, and splendor of Mother Nature. Traverse 24 miles of scenic trails with access to 100 acres of pasture. Discovery trail rides give you a chance to unplug, reconnect with nature, breath fresh air, and enjoy a peaceful setting. Shenandoah offers guided group public and private trail rides for ages 8 years to adult. Reservations are recommended.
