Spacious and clean apartment in an excellent central position for Lee on the Solent. Andrew was an excellent host, we arrived without wine glasses and a hairdryer, he promptly provided both and saved the day.

Together with my kids (12 and 18 years) we had wonderful 6 nights in Lee-on-the-Solent, very close to my niece and her family, who live in this small town. The location is super with seaview in the living room and two bedrooms. A Tesco is across the street, the kitchen is well equipped (including a microwave, a waterboiler and a toaster) and the bathroom with a bathtub is nice. We had some problems with the doorlocks (the key got stuck and was difficult to remove again) and the hallway smells a bit wet. However, this might be the price for an appartment at the seaside. The Wifi was quite unstable, which might be related to weather conditions (?). The kitchen could be improved with bigger cooking pots and we missed a hairdryer. Nevertheless, it was a perfect stay!

The host was good with communication etc but to be totally honest, I was quite disappointed with the property. I have never stayed in an Airbnb before and maybe it’s just me, expecting more from it. The location was good, the flat was spacious and it was warm. I’m afraid though that it needed a lot of work to bring it up to a good standard. It’s not the owners fault that the entrance corridor, from the road, smelled of damp and wasn’t very welcoming but first impressions weren’t too good. The front door of the property, needed a good paint as did a lot of the internal walls. Eg behind the toilet. Around the base of the bath, where it joins the floor, plastic strips were missing. There were lots of things like this in the flat which needed to be done. It was also pretty soulless, with no pictures wall art, in fact nothing on the walls at all. It’s on a busy road and was therefore pretty noisy and there are street lights directly outside the windows which made it extremely light at night
