PRIVATE PARKING IN YARD! Live Like a Local in Hamtramck! Immerse yourself in Hamtramck's vibrant soul - thrift stores, bookstores, coffee shops, delicious eats & buzzing nightlife. Work remotely in comfort with reliable WiFi, then head out for Yemeni, Bangladeshi, or Polish food; or walk to the local grocery and cook up a meal in our well-equipped kitchen. Drink with locals at a corner bar, catch a show, or rock out at a music venue. 10 mins to Downtown Detroit, easy access to expressways. You are reserving a whole house, located one block from the main intersection in Hamtramck. There is one bedroom with a comfy queen bed and large closet. Between the bedroom and bathroom is a spacious dressing room with storage shelves and a full-length mirror. The bathroom features a clawfoot tub and a Tushy bidet. The living room is decorated with a playful design along the moldings, and has a extra-long couch and smart TV. The kitchen has newer appliances, a dinette table for two, and a large pantry. There is a vintage Oak table in the dining room for sharing a meal, or playing games! There is a dedicated office, lined with bookshelves and a selection of our favorite books. The small desk looks out the front window at neighbors walking by. The back entry room is the perfect place to leave coats and shoes, and leads to the backyard and 2 private parking spaces. In the basement are a washer and dryer... the laundry is in a traditional old Hamtramck basement, but it does the job for longer stay guests.

Loved staying here and exploring the neighborhood. Connie provided great recommendations on where to go in the neighborhood. The garden in the back of the house was gorgeous, too!
i loved the location, next to a busy lively center and in the neighborhood of some of the best restaurants in detroit in my view. the yard was huge and perfect for my dogs. the house was comfortable, furniture were simple but homey. the front yard gets some trash from neighbors and people walking by for some reason, but easy enough to pick out. the front office room was perfect for zoom meetings. thanks for a nice stay.
Great stay. The home was charming and full of character. Conveniently located near shops, food and interstate for all my traveling needs while in Detroit. Will definitely book again!
I love that this house retains the old Hamtramck charm. Off street parking in this area is a huge plus! I wish my stay had been longer so I could take advantage of the well stocked kitchen and peaceful workspace.
We loved our stay. The quaintness of the older house was comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you Connie for allowing us to bring our dog. The house was very pet friendly. Your response to our questions was always quicker than expected. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils for cooking. We appreciated the simplicity of the place but there was nothing else that we really needed. This was our first trip to Detroit. It is sad to see so much of the city run down, but with so much potential. We were pleased to see that there is a lot to do in the area. We experienced Belle Isle and the aquarium there. That was a highlight. We also enjoyed the Eastern Market and tasted our first Shawarma. There are so nice restaurants in the area to enjoy an evening out as well. Thank you Connie for making our stay very enjoyable. We would use your place again and recommend it to others who want to visit the area. Thank you too for mailing our cord back to us:).

I love architecture, old stuff, books, music, and hanging out with my granddaughter. I’m a founding member of Book Suey, an owner-operated Co-op bookstore in Hamtramck. I’m the mother of three amazing (adult) children :) I like interesting/quirky objects, and my houses reflects this--I hope you'll enjoy the eclectic mix of furniture and knick-knacks. **Please note, my daughter & I managed the airbnb together before, you'll see her name (Alissa) if you go far enough back in reviews, on occasion she still helps out & often uses this to book when she travels for work:)
