I love going away once a year with my husband, parents, kids and now their significant others. It’s not easy finding a house to fit all 9 of us that isn’t $300 to $600 a night. It was so nice seeing my twenty something “kids” put their phones away and kayak, play games, do puzzles and eat dinner with their parents and grandparents every night. Shannon Rest was big (with 9 of us there were still 3 unused beds!), clean and had a very well stocked kitchen! It’s a pretty remote area that forced us to rest and relax as a family. I left Shannon Rest completely rested and that’s unheard of for me since I became a mom 24 years ago! I can’t wait to return! Such a great getaway for the family. The boys did a ton of fishing and boating. Us ladies relaxed in the sun and watched the dogs roam. Definitely not a tourist area and that was exactly what we needed. So much wildlife to view. The host has provided most anything you could think of needing. We will pack lighter for our next visit! Highly recommend Shannon's Rest for your peaceful getaway.

This place was perfect. Secluded, room to park, house was ideal, etc. Joe was super responsive and instructions were clear to check in and out. Will stay again.
