A good, basic, and reasonably priced room. Keep in mind there are two different facilities (one on Gough, the original Hayes Valley Inn which I knew and loved, and one on Hayes which is actually called “the Annex”). The different rooms are not clearly distinguished in the listings here, and if you take a room in the Annex you don’t have access to the nice common areas in the other (even though the hallway postings said that you do…). Even so, it was a decent room for the price, and an excellent neighborhood to be situated in. Next time I’ll figure out how to get the room I want on the Gough side…

The location is great. There is No lift and u have to carry your bags over 2 storeys flight of steps. Share bathroom and shower. No air con. Noise insulation was bad. u can hear everything from the corridor and downstairs. Bed and pillows really need replacing. No coat hangars in the cupboard. Would I use it again... NO.

Nice safe areas with great facilities and restaurants. The Inn was very old especially regarding bathing facilities and lacked essential tools in the kitchen. We had a problem using their app for keys because our phone number was not American. However it was cheap.
