Kick back and relax in this new ultra-modern private level of my town house. It has clean mid-century modern interior design vibes, and a breath-taking view of Manhattan. A 5 minute walk to NYC bound train and 25 minute transit commute to lower Manhattan, this house is located on a quiet street in Jersey City. It was featured on homestudio list for its excellent interior design. After you make a reservation, on request, I will send you details on commuting to and from here, especially to NYC This minimalist mid-century modern town house is in the up and coming Bergen-Lafayette area in Jersey City. It has an open plan, hardwood floors and exposed brick work. The living space has designer furniture made from black leather, chrome and glass, and is a haven for the art or design enthusiast, with its Barcelona chairs, Eames lounge chair and the Castiglioni brothers' Arco lamp. With access to the yard and a beautiful view of Manhattan, the garden level space is what you will be renting. If you are a dog owner, it'll be perfect for you. It has a queen size bed, three blow-up mattresses, a working desk and a swivel chair. It also has a private bathroom and access to a washer and dryer. The lower/garden level is all yours, but you'll be sharing the first floor, consisting of the lounge space, tv or gaming space and kitchen with me and my housemate. We both live on the second floor which is closed off to guests. All the amenities you need in a kitchen are available. Cups, plates and silverware are in the cabinets. You will be able to use the electric range stove to cook meals with pots, pans and all the kitchen utensils that you'll find useful. There is space in the fridge to stow away left overs, a microwave to warm them up, and a dishwasher to wash up when you are done. For those who like coffee and tea, a state-of-the-art electric kettle sits on the marble kitchen counter. I also have mugs for hot drinks stacked in the cabinets. The first floor has a half-bathroom and a deck where you can eat or drink outside with a breath-taking view of Manhattan in the background. It is especially beautiful at night with all the lights from the city scape of New York. Overall we had a pleasant stay at Shay's place. The house is located only 5 minutes away from public transport, taking around 30 minutes to get to the WTC. If you are traveling to New York on a budget, you can definitely consider staying here. The place is exactly what you see in the pictures.
Room was great and felt nice and looked renovated. Everything was so modern and accommodating , Great time.
Staying at Shay's place was a great experience. Everything was according to the description and Shay was very helpful. He made sure that we feel comfortable with all the instructions and also gave us some recommendations regarding local supermarkets and public transport. Definitely worth recommending!
Honestly it was absolute pleasure staying here. Thank you Shay for being such a great Host. Btw I’m originally from Brooklyn and never used the Path or light rail but it was fairly easy to get to the city from Shay’s air bnb. Definitely recommended!! Would absolutely stay again

The street is in the Bergen-Lafayette area of Jersey City and is up and coming. Berry Lane park with its basketball and tennis courts is a five minute walk away. It is the one of the biggest recreational parks in Jersey City. There's also a baseball field and a football pitch, where you can watch people say soccer, rugby and football all through the week.
Liberty State park is also a 15 to 25 minute leisurely walk away from my house.

The Garfield light rail station is a 6 minute walk away and there's free street parking. You don't need a permit to park here. From Garfield, you can reach Manhattan in as little as 30 minutes depending on train times and schedules.
These are the following travel times from the airports near by:
John F. Kennedy Airport(JFK): 53 minutes by car, 1 hour and 48 minutes by transit
La Guardia Airport (LGA): 45 minutes by car, 1 hour 33 minutes by transit
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR): 18 minutes by car, 1 hour 2 minutes by transit
From the house to Manhattan, you have several options where transit is concerned. You can take either a bus, a train, a Via ride share which takes you anywhere in Jersey City for $2, or your regular ride share services Lyft and Uber.
Train to Manhattan: Garfield Ave.(Lightrail)---> Exchange Place(PATH)--->World Trade Center
Train from Manhattan: World Trade Center(PATH)---> Exchange Place(Lightrail-West Side Avenue)---> Garfield Ave.
If you intend to take the train to NYC, you can board the Lightrail train(Hoboken or Tonelle Avenue bound) going to Exchange Place, Marin Boulevard or Newport to get a PATH train at Exchange Place, Grove Street or Newport. The ticket costs $2.25 and can either be purchased on the NJ Transit app or one of the ticketing booths at the stations. Remember to validate your ticket before boarding the Lightrail.
The PATH trains from Jersey City will drop you off in Manhattan at World Trade Center and 33rd Street as final stops. The tickets only cost $2.75, and you can use the New York City metro card on these trains. Note that unlimited metro cards will not work on PATH trains. You will have to add some money to the cards for them to work at the PATH train turnstiles.
Coming back to the house from New York, repeat the process for getting to New York, but when you get to the Lightrail stations at Hoboken, Newport, Exchange Place or Marin Boulevard, make sure to get on the train heading to West Side Avenue and not the one going to 8th or 22nd Street. Garfield Station is on the West Side Avenue route.
There's free street parking, but you have to be aware that both sides of the street get swept on Monday & Thursday at 8am(far side), and Tuesday &Friday(near side). I will do my best to remind you to park on the right side of the street to avoid getting a ticket.
