Let your adventure begin at Raspberry Castle. This three story tall tower has been hand constructed from bricks fired in Medicine Hat. John Jensen, a Danish engineer / bricklayer designed our wonderful castle with his family in the 70's. We've modernized and renovated the entire building to make it as comfortable as possible. With three bedrooms, a basement area with a pull out couch, rooftop patio, and multiple fireplaces, stone shower, there's so much to enjoy! We look forward to having you The castle has a basement relaxation area with bookshelves, couches, chairs; a perfect place for board games or quiet reading. The couch in the basement folds out into a standard bed if the additional sleeping space is needed. On the first floor are three bedrooms, two containing queen beds, and one room containing bunk beds. This floor also has the bathroom complete with a stone shower! The second floor has the beautiful dining area as well as a newly renovated kitchen with granite counter top. The kitchen is complete with oven, stove top, microwave, fridge, and sink with lots of counterspace available to accommodate any meals you want to make while enjoying your stay. And of course there's a coffee maker so you can enjoy a cup of hot coffee in the morning while watching the birds and squirrels scurry throughout the evergreens. Although the castle is heated via a gas furnace, guests are welcome to enjoy fires on in our second floor hearth. Upstairs is the roof top patio featuring lovely views of the surrounding forest and Red Deer Lake. Also on the rooftop is another fireplace. The fire can get really hot which makes it possible to brave the cold winter days or nights for those who are willing to try. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are happy to chat. Our stay at the Raspberry Castle was a charming adventure. Our girls loved the ambience and attention to detail, especially the golden shower. From beautiful walks by the lake to fires on the rooftop, roasting marshmallows and soaking up the sunset, a perfect getaway for our family! Highly recommend this spot, especially if you believe in a little magic.

My sister and I had a great crafting weekend away at the castle. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were very soft and luxurious. We enjoyed making up a fire in the fire places in the kitchen and on the roof top patio. A quick search on wikiHow can show you how to easily set up the fire in the fireplace if it’s your first time. The fire place in the kitchen was fully stocked with kindling/starter pieces of wood, half logs and full logs. It’s a short walk down to the lake and although it was snowy on our stay, the view was beautiful! The wifi can be a little spotty in the basement and first floor, so download your sleep stories/pod casts while on the second floor :) Over all we had a great time and can’t wait to come back with friends. PS stretch often to avoid calf pain if you are not used to taking stairs :)
BOOK THIS PLACE! It was all the listing shows and more. Though it is remote and requires travel on rural dirt roads - directions through G maps led us right there. It was quiet, intriguing, cozy, and the perfect getaway for people who want to stay somewhere they will remember forever. The decor and renovations were well thought out and beyond creative. The roaring fire made a wonderful backdrop to heartfelt conversations and wonderful woodsy smells all day. The neighbour was lovely and the location, just the respite we needed. We will definitely make this a favourite place to take visitors to Alberta. It is also only 20 minutes from Camrose, an additional joy of our weekend! If you are a fan of little free libraries, Camrose has them EVERYWHERE. I cannot recommend this location enough.
If you want to stay somewhere unique and beautiful and unplug with the family, this is the place. It’s a great experience and something you don’t come across everyday.
