This charming detached property is situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone, and is just over a mile from the coast. Brighstone is renowned for its 12th Century church, its centre of picturesque thatched cottages, a public house for meals and a general store which specialises in local produce. There are a variety of quiet coves on this south west coast of the Isle of Wight - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beaches of Brighstone and Brook are particularly picturesque and unspoilt. Further along the coast is an area popular with surfers and Compton Bay is renowned for its fossils. This also an incredible walking and cycling area with a bridleway within a few minutes walk, linking with paths joining the Tennyson Trail which extends from the centre of the Isle of Wight to the Needles on the western tip. The nearby coastal path is amongst the most dramatic to be found in England and most of this coastline is protected by the National Trust. Nearby, there are also the National Trust gardens of Mottistone Manor. Strawberry cottage has recently been renovated to a high standard, providing attractive and comfortable accommodation for four people. It is situated in a peaceful lane with little traffic as it is a no-through road. The property stands on raised ground, and from the living room there are views of Brighstone Downs and glimpses of the cliffs above Blackgang Chine. The living room is a spacious and sunny room with a large picture window extending along most of its length. It is furnished with deep sofas, and a flat screen Smart TV & DVD Player. There is also an attractive dining area; a well-equipped fitted kitchen with an electric cooker, induction hob, microwave, slim-line dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer; a double bedroom with a king-size bed, Freeview/DVD TV, fitted wardrobe and garden views; a twin bedroom with a fitted wardrobe; a bathroom with bath, separate built in shower, basin and WC; a cloakroom with WC and basin; a tiled and glazed porch for the hanging of outdoor clothes. The cottage is doubled glazed and well heated, with a thermostatically controlled electric heating system. All heating and electricity is provided without extra charge. A mini HIFI/CD player with Bluetooth DAB radio is also provided. Fibre Broadband is available without extra charge and telephone for free anytime calls to UK land lines. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. There is a fenced and gated rear garden with a rose border, a large lawn and a patio with garden furniture, so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. At the front, there is a pretty garden with wildflowers, shrubs and a perennial border, plus a private drive where two cars can be parked. Eight steps with a hand rail lead up to the front door. Bicycles and surfboards can be stored in the lockable garage. There is a regular bus service within a few minutes walk.
