The aesthetics of Shiv Niwas are one of understated elegance. Wherever feasible the original flooring, fixtures and fittings have been retained while adding amenities. A shared guest bathroom for early arrivals is on the ground floor. The fully furnished master bedroom for two guests on the first floor has a private bathroom and balcony. A central balcony, living-cum-dining room and well stocked kitchenette on the first floor and roof terrace on the second floor need to be shared with up to three other guests. Ceiling-height laminated glass double-doors with smart locks, in the ground floor for the host and first floor for the guests, ensure privacy and security for the residents. The stunning 2,000 square metre greenspace, Uma Vatika, contains manicured grass lawns, flower beds, a wide variety of plants, shrubs and creepers, a vegetable garden, fruit trees (viz. Mango, chiku or sapodilla, jamun or Java plum, kino or tangerine, sharifa or custard apple, shahtoot or mulberry, and lemon), a water fountain and tank, a bar counter, lamp posts, as well as swings, benches, stools, chairs and tables as garden furniture. Smart locks facilitate self check-in and check-out by guests. Indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi routers and access points ensure seamless Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the property, including the roof terrace and the Uma Vatika greenspace. Free car parking is available near the house entrance door. A lightning conductor on the roof terrace provides guests with property-wide protection from lightning strikes.

Tarun himself is worth what you pay for the room. Prior to arriving Tarun was extremely helpful and full of information. We arrived after 11pm after a 15hr flight. We asked for a small snack and his staff prepared an entire meal including the best butter chicken I've ever had. The room it self was just as describried and very comfortable for our short stay. I hope we get another chance to stay here for a longer period of time.
Shiv Niwas is my go to home in Delhi. Every stay feels really good. Tarun and his team- Sangeeta, Leena, Maya and Shanti make you very comfortable in a very nuanced and gracious way. Tarun’s locks and codes are a geeks delight. Every modern appliance and convenience in the midst of old world charm and character blends in very tastefully- as is the food! Served on the lawn, with peacocks to keep company or on the dining table complete with lace runners and serviette. And the car wash is very professional too. Net-net- Splendid place!
ShivNiwas is not just a place, its an experience. Felt like home away from home. Everyone including the host and caretaker Sangita didi are amazing people who are very kind and responsive to their guests. The place is even prettier than the pictures. The property is very clean and has peaceful surroundings.
We booked the stay last minute due to a change of plan but were lucky enough to book a room at Shiv Niwas. Away from the hustle of the city, right in the lap of nature. Mr. Tarun was super helpful and catered to all our requests. We reached at 8:30 am and everything was taken care of. Had a delicious breakfast. The caretakers are full of warmth. Since I was feeling under the weather they made sure to provide things in order to make me feel comfortable. The food was delicious ❤️It was a home away from home. Highly recommended. We would always come back here whenever planning a stay in Delhi and definitely stay for a longer period🌼
