This 290 sq/ft Cider Box tiny house is nestled at the edge of the Monongahela National Forest. It's only 9 minutes to Elkins and 1 hour to Snow Shoe & Canaan. It has an uninterrupted view of rolling mountains and a forest behind it. Relax in a cozy space with a queen loft, Wi-Fi, h/c shower, composting toilet, kitchen with stove & mini fridge, and living room. You have a full kitchen with a four burner propane stove and oven, small fridge, air fryer/toaster oven, full sink, French press, tea kettle, cookware, utensils, oils and spices. Rest comfortably in a queen bed in a sunny loft that you can sit up in (no standing). We provide hypoallergenic bedding and organic cotton linens. There is a full shower, sink, and composting toilet. Hot water is on-demand. There is a living room with a convertible chair that turns into a twin-sized bed suitable for a older child/young adult. There is also a sitting bench and fold-down table. You also have a smaller loft that's accessible from a ladder that is usable as a reading nook or extra storage space. Heat is provided by infrared space heaters and propane Dickinson marine heater. There is a ceiling fan. We supply a crystal infrared healing mat with tourmaline and topaz for aches and pains. This space, even though it's private, is uphill 450 feet from a four-lane. You can't see it from the tiny house, except for in the winter at the edge of the drive, but you can hear it at times. Yes, there are stairs to climb. There is no TV. VERY IMPORTANT: To use the composting toilet, MEN and women both must sit down to pee. You must also close the solid's trap door before peeing so the liquids won't mix with the peat moss in the wrong container. Liquids have to go in the liquid's container. Solids must go in the solid's container. Please consider before booking, whether all this is too much to remember to be comfortable at toilet time. We supply a fire ring and ample firewood when burning is permitted. There are also trails on 29 acres to roam. Trails are marked with colored survey flags. There is a map in the manual for reference. Your tiny home has a full view of rolling Appalachian mountains to the west with peaks as tall as 2500 to 3000 feet. You can easily view Rich Mountain. The sun sets behind these mountains. Behind the tiny home are towering pines from a retired tree farm mixed in with hardwoods. Logging road trails wind through the land. It is full of mushrooms, particularly Chanterelles, for the lay and professional mycologist alike. You will even find wild leeks called Ramps in the spring. Deer surround the home regularly. DISCLAIMER: For a comfortable experience in this cozy tiny home, make sure your mind and body enjoys small spaces. You must be comfortable and capable of managing narrow stairs and a ladder. Sound Please note, the tiny home is 450 feet up a hill from a four lane. You cannot see it from the tiny house unless you are at the edge of the drive in winter, but you hear some road noise outside the tiny home. Inside it's muted nicely. This is part of the charm of being able to see vast starry skies with no light pollution but also be able to get on the road and in town within 9 minutes.
