萨默维尔 · 整套民居 · 4室5床2.5卫 · 可住8人 · Somerville home by Tufts, Kendall, Harvard/MIT
Nestled less than five min to the Green Line train stop and bike path, this townhome is walking distance to much of Somerville's charms. The versatility of this 3-level home--with its 3 bedrooms upstairs, an open living/eating/cooking space on the main level, and a finished basement + full bathroom + laundry on the lower--means that any group can fit nicely, whether it's a couple, a small family, an extended family (we've comfortably fit ours here many times!), or a group of young professionals.
Stayed here with a group of 9 for the Head of the Charles Regatta. House is exactly as advertised. It’s an older house, so noise travels between the floors. Quick Uber ride to the Charles to watch races, but also very walkable in good weather. Great price!
Our townhouse is located on a friendly street with great neighbors steps from Magoun Square in Somerville. Somerville is a thriving, young, diverse, artsy, and ultra biking- and walking-friendly northern outpost of Boston (think of it as Cambridge's younger, hipper cousin). You can get downtown pretty easily by taking the Green Line Magoun Sq train stop located 3 minutes walking distance, or a bus to one of many MBTA stations such as Davis Square, Porter Square (both Red Line), Assembly Square, or Sullivan (both Orange Line). This location is also perfect for families visiting students of the many close-by universities (Tufts, Lesley, Harvard, MIT), and close to the biotech companies in Kendall Square. Magoun Square is one of Somerville's many squares that boasts a diversity of unique shops and restaurants.
Walk less than 5 minutes to Old Magoun's Saloon (great beer selection), Daddy Jones (fun outdoor patio), Pennypacker's (amazing porchetta sandwiches), Modelo Cafe (Brazilian bakery, acai bowls, yummy cappuccinos), Tasty MoMos (Nepalese dumplings), as well as Mexican, Salvadoran, Chinese, Italian/pizza options, as well as a CVS and a 24-hour Dunkin Donuts. Also, a couple blocks away are brand new shops including Somerville Bread Company, Tipping Cow Ice Cream, and Winter Hill Brewery (cool cafe by day, tasty beers and food by night).
Public transportation in Boston is very well used, so options abound. Close to the townhome is the Green Line Magoun Square train stop as well as bus stops for the 80, the 88, the 89, and the 90, which connect to subway lines in Davis Square, Lechmere, and Sullivan. Tufts is an easy train or bus ride away as well. If you're an uber-user, you'll find this location is basically a 10- or 15-minute ride away from most destinations within a 5-10 mile radius of Somerville!
The most "Somerville" way to get around is by foot or bike, and you'll find those both amazing easy options from our townhome. The Somerville Community Bike Path is a block away from our house and continues through Davis Square, Alewife, and out to Lexington as part of the Minuteman Bike Path. Step onto this path and you'll see the center of life in Somerville. People walking dogs, kids riding bikes, friends having coffee, commuters walking to and from work, bicyclists coasting by with music playing on speakers. This is what makes our city so great! Also close by is an on-demand bike rental station. Rent by the half-hour and drop off the bike at any other station throughout Somerville, Cambridge, and Boston. Life is good!
