A beautiful place to stay with great facilities. Sarah was a friendly and helpful host, we really enjoyed our time here.
On arrival, we were so surprised to see just how much the pictures and description matched what we found. The peace and tranquility was exactly what we needed from a break of city living. I would recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and embrace the best of the British countryside. Looking back through the guest book it’s clear that everyone including myself feels the exact same way, “should have booked longer”.
Beautiful spot and so thoughtfully created. Comfortable bed and would stay again. Thanks Sarah!
Just returned from this beautiful pod and we feel sad already!!! Had the most amazing get away from our day to day lives with hustle and bustle….. our stay was so relaxed and peaceful! We enjoyed the big window for watching the wildlife and the hot tub was a perfect spot for listening to all the wildlife with a glass of fizz 🥰 The pod is very well designed and decorated, felt everything had been thought of to make our stay a great experience and the anniversary banner was such a lovely touch… Thank you Sarah, you’re a perfect host and we really enjoyed meeting you …. Keep up the good work!! Victoria and Deano x
We are in a pretty Horton stone village, with a friendly pub at its heart.
There are lots of lovely walks from the village, many with stunning views. We are within walking distance of Burton Dassett Country Park, where kite flying in summer, and sledging when snowing are much enjoyed. The other direction takes you to village of Farnborough with the National Trust property and stunning lake. The walk across along the ridgeway is wonderful, taking you through a field with sheep and semi wild ponies.
15 mins drive from Banbury train station, 20 mins to Warwick (famous for its castle) and 25 mins from Stratford upon Avon, which can be enjoyed for the theatre, Shakespeare history, or boating.
A short drive takes you to Cropredy or Fenny Compton where amongst other things, you can join the tow paths to enjoy canal side walks.
In pretty much any direction there are local pubs.
There is a nearby farm shop (carpenters) and a coop. If you are staying on a Saturday morning there is a delivery of various breads and treats from the local bakery (in Kineton) which drops off preordered goodies at The Shack by the friendly village pub, The Yew Tree. However, there are invariably a few extras so it is certainly worth a try.
The Little Kitchen and Co offer noteworthy pop up foodie feasts and events in both Farnborough and at Primrose Hill Farm in Arlescote, which is a popular boutique wedding venue, with stunning views.
Looking slightly further afield are trips to the Cotswolds, Stratford, Rugby (famous for its school), or Leamington Spa.
For the historians we look out across to Edge Hill, where the famous battle was held.
Also close by is Burton Dassett County Park, where there is a viewing point, a beacon and a beautiful old church, rich in its own history.
All in all, there’s lots to see and do ….
Alternatively, just chill out, read a book and do as little as humanly possible. Your break. Your choice. Obviously.
There is private off road parking at the property. A car is generally recommended as public transport in minimal. Taxis are available, but not cheap due to the rural setting. The cost is circa £18 from Banbury station.

There’s invariably a cunning plan … often design and build orientated. I love walking - in cities or the countryside I hate waste and embrace future proofing - and have both solar panels (non visible!) and an air source heat pump. I share my home with my 2 lovely grown up daughters, 1 Labrador and 2 alpacas. I’m fortunate enough to have traveled extensively - and most of all enjoy the journey.
