My family and I stayed for two months! It was a peaceful stay! Everything we needed was at the house, grocery store near by (with car). Alex is very responsive and helpful, any issues we had he had remedied right away!! Would definitely recommend Alex’s place!!!

We stayed at Alexandre’s place for a month while visiting with family nearby. The home was comfortable and relaxing. There was no clutter and it was very clean. The area is lovely. The second day we arrived there was a snowstorm and the scenery was beautiful. It looked like a winter wonderland. We were pleasantly surprised that the township cleared the roads quickly. We had an all wheel drive vehicle and we had no trouble getting up the driveway to the house, if we didn’t we may have had a problem on the icy days. The power also went out twice due to falling trees. Within a few hours the power was restored. It’s important to note that when the power does go out there is no hydro, water, or heat. So best to be prepared. Alex was quick to respond to any questions we had, and checked in to make sure we were ok. The kitchen does not have an oven or a microwave so you need to be a little creative with your meals. We really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely come back again.

Just Amazing! I stayed for five weeks. Alex is a gem of a human being and a great host. I felt right at home. The cottage is as advertised, surrounded by forest trees, and very peaceful. I'm a photographer and stayed during the fall when the trees change colour and was able to capture amazing footage to be displayed at gallery next summer. I have never in my life had such a visceral experience of the change of seasons. Definitely recommend; specially if you are more on the quiet side and enjoy nature and long walks. I can't say enough good things about the host. They even installed a washer/dryer at my request which was a lifesaver since the cottage is nicely tucked away. I highly recommend the Hibou cafe and restaurant in Wakefield. Food is very good and they have live music on Tuesday nights performed by local artists.
