Welcome to Hills Hideaway- open the gate to this private, fenced oasis and enjoy my charming country home with modern comforts. Nestled amidst serene surroundings, the property offers high-speed internet, endless hot water, and air conditioning to keep you comfortable. Step outside to enjoy the spacious front yard and inviting porch. The outdoor space is fully fenced, ensuring your safety and privacy, as it separates you from larger wildlife and the rest of the homestead. Experience the perfect blend of countryside tranquility and contemporary amenities. The entry area of the home opens up into the kitchen with the dining and living room off the other end. Mountain top views await you from your choice of seating. The smart tv is set on a movable tea cart. Stream shows, watch youtube, pop in one of the many dvds, or simply get out some cards or the available games to play. Directly above the stairs off the living room is the doorless primary bedroom. This sunny, climate controlled room has 8 windows looking out to the mountaintops, pasture, and forest. It contains a queen bed, hanging chairs, and a built-in wardrobe. Back downstairs and around the corner from the entry/dining area is the kitchen, which has an induction stove for fast cooking and a breakfast bar with three stools. Please note there is no dishwasher, and the only check-out task you are asked to do is wash the dishes you use. Next to the front door and off the wrap-around porch is the smallest bedroom. Past the kitchen is the third bedroom, with a bay window and closet. The bathroom is across from this bedroom. It has a full bath and unlimited hot water with the tankless water heater. Outside, sun and shade can always be found in different areas throughout the day with the yard-framing weeping willow tree near the front gate. The large porch has a swing, couch, rocking chair, and bbq. A table seating 6 is on the open lawn, and around the yard hammocks and lawn chairs can be found. Yard games are also available for use with a badminton net and ladder toss. At night, the stars are sure to stun in the quiet coolness of the country.

What a beautiful, private home! Location right off the highway, super easy to find! Such a cute place with great mountain views and the host makes you feel incredibly welcome!
My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay in Alex's Hills Hideaway. We would absolutely come back, either for another romantic getaway or with a group of friends. Alex was an amazing host start to finish! She was great at keeping in contact when needed and always had suggestions for things to do in the area. We truly felt the care and love she put into making us feel welcomed in her space. Even going the extra mile, leaving a personalized note and care basket, in regards to our anniversary. It honestly melted our hearts. If your're looking to break away from your day to day life, the Hill Hideaway is worth checking out.
This place is exactly what the Dr ordered!! My husband and I needed some restful quiet time away and that's exactly what we got!! Our host, Alex was absolutely fantastic!! We will definitely be going back!!
We are so happy that we choose to stay here! The surroundings were breathtaking and the property was private but quite easy to get to. Beautifully decorated with vintage decor, but all the modern things you would need in the kitchen. Great coffee making options is always a plus! The beds and bedding were comfortable and clean. The whole house was clean and had personal touches everywhere. We really felt at home. I was traveling with my husband, mother, and my one year old. My little enjoyed looking out the back window at the chickens and we thought the swing chairs upstairs were pretty cool. The host was friendly, helpful, and communicative. Would highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay at Alex’s Hills Hideaway. From the moment we arrived and stepped through the fence gate, we caught the relaxed vibe of the location. Almost like stepping back into the past, is this beautiful homestead with creative architecture, surrounded by pasture and forest. The interior is spacious but cozy with a rustic cottage feel that would be great for a gathering of family or friends. The kitchen is well equipped and Alex (and her hens) provided us with fresh eggs. Looking out the window to the yard is the sight of chickens and ducks and a happy dog! If you are looking for a charming place to stay in the vicinity of Slocan Lake, we are happy to recommend Alex’s delightful retreat.

Hills is a quiet area located at the tip of Slocan Lake, 10 minutes from New Denver and 20 minutes from Nakusp by car. The rail trail and nearby lake and beaches are hidden gems in this community speckled with homesteads. Central to numerous developed and natural hot springs in the area, Hills is a perfect spot to relax in peace and quiet between your outdoor adventures.
The property is located near the end of a quiet road off the highway. There is parking in front of the gate and many more areas to park in the immediate surroundings. The rail trail and lake are nearby and can be accessed on foot from the home.
