Clean, peaceful, centrally located 1-bedroom garden suite in Vancouver’s popular Commercial Drive neighborhood. Clean, bright, newly furnished unit in quiet heritage home neighborhood. Enjoy the outdoor stone patio & gas fire pit, walk 2 blocks to local restaurants, pubs, parks, community center with gym, pool, ice rink, tennis. Close to downtown & transit. Free street parking, large kitchen, oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, washer-dryer, free wifi, Netflix, bike storage. Dogs welcome. The space is clean, bright and has all new furnishings. The apartment is on the ground floor of a 1910 Heritage Home and has it's own separate entry from the shared patio. There is a locked wooden fence surrounding the entire property so it is very private, secure, and relaxed. You will feel right at home in the large fully-equipped kitchen with high-quality cookware (we like to cook so we have provided the unit with high quality chef's knives and stainless steel cookware). Full size fridge with freezer, oven, stove, microwave, coffee/espresso machine, electric kettle, toaster, blender. If you wish to work from home, there is a dedicated work space off the living room with a well-lit desk for your laptop and comfortable work chair. The bedroom has a queen bed, a full size dresser, and a very large closet for clothes and storage. The washer-dryer is located in the bathroom so you can do your own laundry. The bathroom has a ceramic tile shower and we have equipped the bathroom with a hair dryer and bathroom scale. The apartment stays cool in the summer since it is on the ground floor. The apartment does not have air conditioning but our house has central air conditioning so the entire building stays cool in summer. All windows can be opened to get a cross-breeze and there is a screen for the entrance door if you wish to keep the door open to the patio. Please note: We have two children (9 and 6 years old) and two mid-size dogs (not yappy), so some noise is to be expected whilst living in a wood frame heritage home. We fully insulated the ceiling between the rental suite and our home above, so the sound dampening is good, but you will hear us from time to time in the mornings and evenings. Our kids go to bed at 8:30pm and wake at 7:00am, so it is quite between those hours. Our bedrooms are on the 3rd floor of the house so it is always quiet in the night. Weekdays are quite during the workday 8:30-3:00 when we are at work/school. Our children are home after school from 3:00 until bed time at 8:30pm. Weekends may have higher degree of noise level during the daytime. We respect our guest's privacy but we are happy to interact with you as you see fit.
We live in a quiet residential neighborhood 2 blocks from the best stretch of Commercial Drive. There is a locked wooden fence surrounding the entire property, so its very private, secure and relaxed. Commercial Drive is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Vancouver with lots of great restaurants & pubs, shopping, pharmacy, liquor store, etc.
We are 3 blocks from Grandview Park and Britannia Community Centre which includes a full gym (free weights, cardio) as well as an ice rink (year-round) and Olympic size swimming pool. There are also free tennis courts, a skateboard park, bike polo rink, an outdoor running track next to the high school, and off-leash areas for dogs. The neighborhood simply rocks, enjoy!
There is free street parking, no permit required. We are two blocks from Commercial Drive so you can easily walk anywhere in the neighborhood to explore the restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, shopping, grocery stores, pharmacy, liquor store, etc.
We are 8 minutes from downtown by car, 15 minutes by bike, 35 minutes by foot. There are bike lanes linking us to downtown so it's very easy and safe to get around by bike and you can lock you bike on our property.
We are a 25 minute drive from UBC Campus and you can easily get there via transit. We are a 5-minute walk to the main bus route on Commercial Drive, and 12 blocks from the Broadway/Commercial SkyTrain Station.
Local hikes are a very close
20 minute drive to Mt Seymour, Cypress, Grouse Mountain
Stanley Park and sea wall exploring is also a great activity by bike/walk (15 min drive).
Beaches are numerous to choose from:
English Bay (15 min)
2nd and 3rd beach in Stanley park (15 min)
Kitsilano beach. (15 min)
UBC wreck -nude beach- 30 min

Hi, I'm Tim, I've lived in Vancouver for 17 years and have raised my family here. We have two kids and two dogs and love the local neighborhood. We are an active family, we ski in the winter, hike in the summer, and the kids love skateboarding and playing at the local park. We also enjoy cooking.
