Guesthouse KIOTO is using an old town house (Machiya) about 100 years old. Here is located in a local area, 30 minutes by bus from Kyoto station. There are many restaurants, supermarkets and convenience stores near the guest house. We have prepared a handmade map of the neighborhood to introduce you to our recommendations. You can go to Kinkakuji by bicycle. There is a public bath of tangible cultural property called Funaoka Onsen where you can go on foot for 15 minutes. The guest room is on the 1st floor of the annex and has 1 bunk bed and 1 sofa. A room with large windows and an antique atmosphere. Toilets, showers and wash room is shared on the first floor. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, fans and free Wi-Fi. Because it uses an old townhouse, the soundproofing function is not perfect. If you would like to have a homemade Japanese breakfast, please make a reservation at least 1 day before check-in. (900 yen) *Not available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

belle chambre, mais la guest house n'a pas la structure fonctionnelle d'un vrai appartement. On ne peut cuisiner a part réchauffer au four micro-Onde voir encore mieux, manger dehors. C'est beau mais peu commode finalement.
Our stay was so nice! The room was really cool, comfy and spacious. The whole guest house was really clean and had a great vibe. Also so nice to have access to a kettle and tea, fridge etc…! Nari and Chii were both very kind and helpful. We also really loved the location, there was lots of nice things around and everywhere was easily accessible, but didn’t feel too close to the busy downtown. Thank you for having us, we would both 100% recommendation the guesthouse for a great stay in Kyoto.

It was a unique experience, very authentic atmosphere, although not as much space, but we got arround quite well. Walkable distance to some objects, although going to Kyoto station by bus takes about 30min.
It was my first time staying in Machiya and it was great experience. I will surely use again. Located in very quiet side of Kyoto and didn’t know there is such a area existed Thank you once again

The area called "Nishijin" where KIOTO is located is very quiet. This area is lined with traditional townhouses. Strolling through the narrow alleys of Kyoto is one of the pleasures.
There are Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Hirano Shrine and Senbon Shakado near by. You can also go to Kinkakuji by bicycle.
