Situated in the centre of the old town of Vejer my place is a newly renovated, fresh, bright, contemporary duplex on the top two floors of a traditional patio house with a glorious private roof terrace garden & stunning views Perched above the town it has fantastic vistas of the beautiful medieval church,the winding white washed streets below & amazing uninterrupted 180 degree views of the fertile valley, foothills & mountains of La Janda as well as the beaches of Zahara & mountains of Morocco. The front door to my flat is one flight of stairs up from the patio on the first floor. You come into the entrance hall which has a terracotta brick wall and straight ahead is the bathroom with a walk in shower. Both rooms over look the patio and the well below. Turning right from the front door takes you into a light and spacious living room with two ceiling fans to keep you nice and cool, a TV and glorious views across the fertile valley of La Janda to the mountains beyond as well as the old town and the cobbled street below with French doors which open on to the balcony. The bespoke ply sofa/daybed has a new 200 x 140cm mattress for extra guests if needed. Behind the white curtain at the back of the living room is the washing machine, vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment etc. The door in the living room leads into the bedroom which has another ceiling fan and a new 200 x 160 double bed and equally gorgeous views; particularly in the morning as the wooden shuttered window opens to the sun rising above the medieval town. The external stairs from the front door lead up to the kitchen and rooftop garden on the second floor. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher, microwave and induction hob. There is a table with two chairs and the kitchen window has a beautiful view back over Vejer, across the sandy beaches of Zahara over the straits of Gibraltar and on to the mountains of North Africa. Through the patio doors the kitchen leads directly onto the private roof garden with truly stunning views across the Sierra de Cádiz. The hilltop towns of Medina Sedona and Alcalá de Los Gazules are across the valley with the mountains of the National park Los Alcornocales as a backdrop. I’m a passionate gardener and have tried to create an oasis of green in which to relax in the sunshine or eat in the shade. There’s is a cold water shower for cooling off and a cast iron roll top bath with hot and cold running water for bathing under the stars!
