Ty Nant is a wonderful Wales holiday cottage that has been lovingly renovated and refurbished to provide well-equipped, high quality traditional accommodation that also offers all modern fixtures and fittings. This stone built detached farmhouse is situated on a 150 acre working hill farm with stunning views of the Conwy Valley, 3.5 miles from Betws-Y-Coed. The accommodation includes three bedrooms, one of which has a four-poster bed; fitted kitchen with a dining area, and sitting room with an open fire in an inglenook fireplace. Ty Nant is a farm cottage base with great facilities and comfortable accommodation that is in just the right place for exploring Conwy and Caernarfon castles; the Welsh Mountain Zoo; Victorian Llandudno, and Snowdonia.
Where to start! Lynda was communicative from the start, and made checking in super easy. She started the wood fire before we got there so the cottage was super warm and homely for our arrival. There was parking for at least four cars right outside the cottage. My only feedback for finding the location to the host is providing a what.3.words for the house. It is a working farm, so if you're looking for a silent retreat, this is not it! It was lovely to be immersed in the sounds of rural life (dogs, cows, sheep and very affectionate farm cat Beti) and there are no sounds of a town or road to be heard. Lynda was a great host and left us to it but was immediately available when we messaged her. The house was well kept, clean, well stocked, spacious, warm and cosy, and perfect for a family retreat. The amenities need to be better listed as this advert currently undersells everything the house offers: slippers and bathrobes, tumble dryer, dishwasher etc! Would 100% stay again!
The outdoors lovers' haven of Betws-Y-Coed is surrounded by dense woodland and impressive mountains, and is known as the Gateway to Snowdonia. The River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west at Betws-Y-Coed, and North Wales' most popular inland resort offers cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. The most magnificent of the waterfalls is Swallow Falls, found where the waters of the Llugwy River fling themselves into a dramatic chasm. The village is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, and also marks the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the towns of Llandudno and Conwy. Betws-Y-Coed has a good choice of shops, pubs, eateries, a riverside golf course and the enjoyable Woodland High Rope Activity Centre.
