Our area is one of the nicest in Saint Maur although it the furthest from the RER stations. Saint Maur is a virtually an island and has been preserved well. Our road is usually quiet, we are 100m from the river and a typically French little square with two bakeries, a butcher, a chemist, a hairdresser, a well-stocked SuperU supermarket, a minimart, a bar and a friendly local cafe/restaurant. On Sunday mornings there is a small market although at La Varenne, a 15 min bus or cycle ride, there is a large market on Thursday and Sunday mornings. Throughout the town there are many bars, good restaurants and shopping areas.
There is a good sized clean swimming pool within walking distance.
The river has lots to offer, walks, islands, wildlife, paddle boarding and kayaking, great cycle paths and several riverside restaurants as well as picnic tables and outside gym equipment.

The Saint Maur Créteil RER station is a 15 min bus or cycle ride or a 35 min walk along the river. Sundays, bank holidays and during August you can park in the small car park opposite the station for free (get there early). Central Paris, the Stade de France, the Gare du Nord, Disneyland and Charles de Gaulle airport are all within reach. Versailles is at the other end of the same line.
There are several different bus options but they are not as frequent since the pandemic. It is possible to cycle to the Vincennes Forest (with its chateau, lake and zoo) and even into central Paris - cycle path along the river all the way!
Driving into Paris is either by the A4 motorway or through the Vincennes Forest. It is only 20-30 mins but parking in the city can be quite expensive.
