Enjoying an enviable location within the Brecon Beacons National Park, this Welsh bungalow offers cosy accommodation for a group of four humans and two dogs. It’s in the sweet village of Trecastle, with excellent walking opportunities from your front door and a lovely pub just 500 metres away. You’ll enter the property at the rear, ascending a few steps to reach a terrace for shedding muddy shoes. This leads to a lovely garden where you can enjoy afternoon coffees with views over the garden. Inside, a charming and homely decor with plenty of wood and florals creates a rustic atmosphere. Cook up family meals in the well-appointed kitchen and sit down to convivial meals at the spacious dining area. For relaxation, there’s a snug with a wood burner along with a lounge equipped with a Smart TV and plush seating. In mild weather, you’ll relaxing in the enclosed garden, a safe space for pets and children to roam freely. Dine al fresco at the table and chairs and enjoy pre-bedtime soaks in the hot tub – the perfect way to end the day. Locally you’ll find plenty to satiate your thirst for stunning scenery, whether it’s driving 4.5 miles to the Usk Reservoir for a circular walk or heading up the local peak, Cefn Llechid (5 miles), to admire the panoramic views. If you’re keen to tick a classic route off your list, don’t miss the trek up to Pen y Fan (13.5 miles), the tallest peak in South Wales at 886m above sea level. The town of Brecon (12 miles), where the rivers Usk and Honddu meet, is a lovely spot to while away an afternoon, with its medieval cathedral and 1930s cinema.
