'Haute Caussine is set in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the South West of France', says one of the leading architects of the area. A hidden treasure, rustic, with touches of luxury and a wonderfully peaceful surrounding. The 5 double bedrooms are beautifully dressed and set over three buildings. You will be able to walk the private acres of land, have lunch at the wonderful Au Petit Moissac, discover the markets, or simply enjoy the pool with the mesmerising far reaching views. Dating back to 1555, our family home since 1969, the hamlet comprises of one farmhouse, two barns one which is semi converted, a cabanon and some other out buildings and ruins. The property is rented exclusively to one group at a time during high season. Set on idilic private land, you can enjoy Haute Caussine’s surrounding landscape and private pool. We have hosted weddings and private Parties for up to 80 guests We can give you tips on various places to visit in the local area or simply leave you to enjoy the magical view and rest by the pool. Though the property hosts up to 12 sleeping in the various building, the main house is perfect for family due to it being only two en suit bedrooms each with its own floor. The hamlet is set in acres of private land with views stretching to the Pyrenees (in the winter you can see a panoramic stretch of snow capped mountains). Rustic with a wild natural landscape, modern and simple on the inside, with touches of luxury. Each room (bar the attic) has four poster beds. The attic bedroom in the main house has low beams - ideal for children to have their own space. The large terrace has some shade and tables to seat your group. Very cool in the summer, and those who sleep there seem to wake up last. The barn has two bedrooms, both sharing a bathroom with shower; - Barn bedroom double - Barn bedroom king. ONCE YOU HAVE CHECKED IN; Below are a few local recommendations which we suggest for our guests. BOULANGERIE The boulangerie in Toufailles makes the flour by the traditional methods. Cakes can be pre ordered with personalised messages, they need up to 36 hours notice. Closed Wednesdays. SUPERMARKET LAUZERTE One of the most beautiful villages in France. 14 minutes away - medium sized supermarket, Intermarch Boulangeire Bank Pharmacy Petrol station There is also a small village 6 minutes away, here you will find a small supermarket for essentials, a bank and pharmacy. Giant hypermarkets to be found just outside Moissac on the route to the motorway/ Castelsarrasin MARKETS Lauzert Saturdays 8-12, in the square at the very top of the village. Montaigue de Quercy. Wednesday and Saturday 8-12 Rocequor - small market on Sundays - 8-12 . Montcuq -Sunday - a really wonderful market. You can book here for after the market, see my notes below on Cafe du France. BROCANTS AND VIDE GRENIER (antique market and car boot sale) These change annually, but the tourist offices in the local villages (Bourg de Visa and Lauzert) will have all the details. I may have provided them to you as well prior to your arrival. LOCAL LAKES Montquc lac, large natural lake with mini beach,snack bar and restaurant. WATER SKIING - CANOOING Moissac- head to the river and to the left of the Napoleon Hotel you can go water skiing and also hiring a little boat.. TENNIS If you would like to play tennis – the best court is in the neighbouring Village, Touffailles. To enter the courts, you will need a key – the Marie in Toufailles can give you a key for approx 10 euros. There is also a court in Bourg de Visa. If you take a right out of the shop cLe Gerbe, and do your right at a small sign saying TENNIS, after 100 yards or so. Its just straight ahead. Normally the door is open!
