Situated on a tiered hillside, the Hilltop Vintage Campground is a half acre property bordered by 400 acres of state multi-use forest land. The Golden Era Shasta or “Goldie” is located on the upper campground site and a separate van-camper site is located below. Guests have the option to rent both sites if they desire more privacy. Please reach out prior to booking for pricing and availability.
During the fall, winter, or early spring months you may see the Wassaic Hill House further below, once the trees lose their leaves. Although surrounded by nature, you are only 4 minutes from the Metro North train to NYC and may occasionally hear sounds associated with the train along with gunshot sounds from the state forest land around hunting season. Shooting does not take place within range of the campsite.

We are a quick 2-hour drive north of New York City or catch one of the 13 scheduled trains from Grand Central to the Tenmile Metro North Station located just 4 minutes away.
Please note rideshare services DO NOT operate in our area. There are limited car services available for pre-scheduled trips.
We strongly recommend visiting the area by vehicle so you can enjoy the campground and the many surrounding attractions. Guests have the option to hike about 18 minutes along the roadside from the Tenmile Metro North Station and up the driveway to access the camper (there are no sidewalks and the ¼ mile gravel driveway is very steep). Pick-up services from the train station for an additional fee by the host may be available but must be arranged PRIOR to booking.
Due to the incline of the driveway, a vehicle with 4WD or AWD is HIGHLY recommended to access the camper and seasonal weather conditions including excessive rain or snow may alter the condition of the driveway. Snow, ice, or freezing temperatures may require that your stay be canceled or postponed. We will offer a full refund with a National Weather Service-issued Severe Storm Threats. Please note that refunds are not issued for minor adverse ore inclement weather conditions like rain or thunderstorms.
