We had such a peaceful stay here. The cottage was warm and cozy, and had the cutest interior decor. There were a couple great hikes right outside, and the village with the stream and the gorge is so beautiful and remote which we loved. We were here end of April and the restaurant wasn’t open yet, so make sure you stop for groceries before you hit town if you’re coming in the shoulder season. Can’t recommend this place enough. We were deciding between Gjov and Tjournavik and I’m so glad we chose this place.

Dear Anita, Staying in your charming, traditional Faroese house in Gjógv was a delightful experience. We were amazed to learn that Gjógv, nestled by cliffs, is home to the only existing railway that transports boats from the harbor up to the town. The realization that we were staying right next to an ancient fjord and that we had crossed Faroe’s highest mountain, Slættaratindur, to reach here added to our awe and gratitude. Your house, with its cute, local decor and modern amenities like a dishwasher and washing machine, made our first days of 2024 incredibly special. We feel lucky to have experienced Faroese culture so authentically. Your guestbook is a testament to the warm connections you forge between Faroe and the world. Thank you for the unforgettable stay!
