We were passing through Las Cruces to Dallas and wanted to do White Sands Park, and this Cloudcroft location ended up a perfect home base. While it was a tight fit for 2 adults, 2 little kids, and a pack n play with a baby, we didn't hang around the cabin much. We were very comfortable in the 2 beds. Our kids were able to take baths while we had nice showers. The little fridge and microwave were sufficient for us. My only wish would have been for darker curtains for the 2 huge windows next to each bed, but the view is nice! The whole area is very nice! Easy drive up and down the mountain. Big Daddy's Diner was AMAZING. Easy to get to White Sands from Cloudcroft. It was a nice stay, and we were left wanting to revisit the whole area again for a family vacation! The host was excellent; kind and responsive and respectful of our privacy.

Cloudcroft itself is great. The host initially was awesome with communication, but after the first day it was basically nonexistent and I was trying to figure out if I needed to park a certain way for the snowplow. Our car was snowed in for the weekend and we had to shovel ourselves out with a broom because she didn't ever reply about us using her snow shovel that was locked in a garage. And the coffee machine was broke so it overflowed when we tried to use it. Places to eat/drink: Mad Jack's Mountaintop BBQ (best BBQ & cornbread) Cloudcroft Brewery for drinks Places to check out: Valley of Fires Three Rivers Petroglyphs White Sands Bridal Veil Falls (optional) Tunnel Vista -make sure to take the family friendly route 😅
