We are in the area of Trapani with its little towns that still exude the atmosphere of the Arab past and with long stretches of coast dotted with beaches, some sandy and others rocky, bathed by a clear sea that invites you to take a refreshing dip. Casavento Puzziteddu derives its name (Casavento = Wind House) from two main elements of the area, the proximity to the Puzziteddu beach and the wind that blows undaunted in this area, making it a favourite with kitesurfers and can be reached along sandy paths and dunes that run along the sea. The nearest beach is about 350 m away and can be reached on foot in few minutes. Newly built, this house with its modern layout and clean lines, was designed to make communication between the interior and exterior easy and fluid, thanks to the many French windows that open onto the garden around the house with the swimming pool. The open-plan living room with lounge and dining area, is connected by a particular glass and iron wall to the kitchen which, in turn, is connected to the outdoor living areas. The black iron is repeated in the spectacular staircase that leads up to the sleeping area, composed of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The geographical context of Casavento Puzziteddu is rich in suggestions and attractions, full of unmissable stops and artistic-cultural itineraries, with a past that still lives on in some of the most renowned centres of the area. Like nearby Mazara del Vallo, a town symbol of Mediterranean culture with its multi-ethnic roots, dominated over the centuries by people as diverse as the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans and Saracens who have left indelible traces that continue to live on in the architecture, culture and gastronomy of these places. Interior: The house, fully air-conditioned, has two floors connected by an internal staircase. The main entrance leads into a bright open-plan living room comprising dining area and lounge with a French window with direct access to the outside on three sides. A glass wall separates the living area from the linear and well-equipped kitchen. This latter has direct access to the outdoor dining and living area shaded by a pergola. Also on this floor is a guest bathroom and a laundry room. A minimal design staircase leads up to the first floor with the sleeping area composed of two double bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom with shower, and in the centre, a bedroom with bunk beds.
Casavento Puzziteddu is located between Trapani and Agrigento, an area that encompasses the Arab and Greek past of the island as well as the most beautiful beaches in Sicily. The whole territory is also characterised by a wealth of food and wine that focuses on fresh fish, dishes of Arab origin, such as couscous, and delicious desserts to be sampled in the numerous bars and restaurants overlooking the sea in the small centre of Campobello di Mazara. Mazara del Vallo is particularly known for its beaches and rocky coves which merit a visit thanks to their clear waters and rich flora. The Tre Fontane beach, just 8 km from Campobello, is among the most renowned in the area. Here the golden sand reaches up to the houses of the borgo and in summer the coast is populated with tourists; this sandy beach is especially suitable for children, as it is practical and safe. Mazara del Vallo is home to numerous monuments that recall the different cultures that have characterised the area: the Kasbah of Mazara is the Arab neighbourhood that bears witness to the coexistence of peoples. Selinunte, about 30 km away, was an ancient Sicilian city located on the south-western coast of Sicily, in today's province of Trapani and is the largest archaeological park in Europe. Marsala is known for the magical sunsets at the "Stagnone". Here you will also find the embarkation point for the island of Mozia where you can admire the “Youth of Mozia”, a Greek relic that has returned home after being at the Expo in Japan and then at the British Museum in London. Also worthy of note is Sciacca, a seaside, tourist and spa town, rich in monuments and churches. Trapani, known as the city of the Hundred Churches, is a treasure chest with its Baroque buildings, churches and castles that frame a breathtaking panorama overlooking one of the most beautiful seas in the world.
