Had a great stay with a great host

I am not one to write negative reviews, but this home did lack things that would have been simple to have included but made our stay difficult. First, I'd like to say how clean the house was. We appreciated that very much. The bedrooms were nice sized as were the bathrooms even if the showers were outdated and one sprayed all over the place. Most things were well labeled and that was nice but it would have been helpful to have been told how to turn on the fireplace. The kitchen was the most disappointing as items were severely lacking. The listing said it included basics like pepper, but did not. There were no measuring cups or teaspoons or even a single bowl spatula. What meal recipe does not need a measuring cup? This made making even a simple breakfast of pancakes a challenge. No baking pans of any kind were included. A quick trip and $100 at Ikea could easily have solved this issue.
