To be honest this is a bit of a tough one. We do not want to leave a great review, because we are feeling very greedy and wish we could keep this place only for ourselves . Everything about Calath is absolutely fantastic. Stunning views, privacy, vicinity of a number of gorgeous locations and connection to nature while staying incredibly comfortable. Very grateful to our host Alan for making our stay ever so pleasant. Really look forward to coming back!

We’ve been to Skye many many times over the years but Alan’s house stood out. The space is wonderful and easy and the loch views are something else! Watching the weather blow across the water and the colours ever changing was a daily delight. We lost count of the number of rainbows! Fab location; private yet homely with lots of walks easily accessible as well as the local Oyster Shed with fresh seafood.

This cottage is in such a beautiful location! The views of the loch and the Cuillin Ridge are spectacular. It had everything we needed for our stay and was well worth the money. The living and dining area were spacious and open. It was lovely cooking in the kitchen but still being with everyone else. Beds were extremely comfy and the rooms were again spacious. Alan’s instructions were very clear making it easy to find the property (Apple maps isn’t quite reliable!) and he was always very friendly when replying. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone wanting to explore Skye as it is the perfect setting and only half an hour away from Portree. Be prepared to drive down single track roads to see many of the most stunning places in the UK but it is incredibly worth it! The Old Inn in Carbost and Talisker Distillery are definitely worth visiting too and they are only twenty minutes down the hill if you walk! Fantastic place - thank you!

This house and its location are magnificent. The view of the black Cuillins through the enormous picture window in the lounge is spectacular, as is the view of Loch Harport from the kitchen. The house is in a great central location on Skye making it easy to get around the island. It’s spacious, light and airy and the kitchen is particularly well equipped. We can highly recommend the food at The Old Inn, the local pub in Carbost and the fresh seafood from The Oyster Shed just up the road. Alan was great at keeping in touch both before and during our stay. All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend Calath.
