Relax at this private, self-contained cottage in the leafy Perth foothills. This much-loved property has been in the family for generations and features this well-appointed shed conversation, designed for rest and comfort both inside and out. This location is home to abundant with quendas, possums, lizards and birds, set among gardens and bordering a bushland nature corridor. On the doorstep of the Perth Hills and Swan Valley, The Cottage is an ideal base to relax and explore. Close to the airport and public transport, the cottage is a perfect base to explore the Perth's hills, Swan Valley or city. The Cottage has a living room/kitchen, seperate bathroom and bedroom. The cottages has sleeping arrangement for 4 - 1 double, 1 king single, and space for a comfy temporary bed. It is with 10 minutes of pubs and cafes of Kalamunda towns and well-known walking and bike riding trails - the "Bibulmun" and "Munda Biddi".

We enjoyed a great stay at Matteo & Jo's cottage! Matteo and Jo are great hosts, very friendly, helpful and attentive. The cottage is separate to the main house and is very roomy, comfortable and clean. The beds were very comfortable, the neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. Well located for our travels around Kalamunda and the Hills area, and close to main highways to access the city and river areas as well. Would definitely stay with Matteo and Jo again!
Had an absolutely gorgeous and peaceful stay for a few days coming up from Albany. Very attentive and welcoming hosts and lovely wildlife! Great location and had every amenity we could need and more. Spotless and beautifully decorated, we hope to return someday!
It was a home away from home. Clean, comfortable and convenient for what we had planned for Easter weekend. It was a lovely quiet space.

A quiet, leafy neighbourhood. Enjoy a bush walk along the Winter creek to the local park. A short walk to grocery, pharmacy, bottle shop, bus routes. Nearest train station is High Wycombe on the Airport line.
While many guests have cars, public transport is easy with a number of bus stops a 5 minute walk away. The High Wycombe train station is a 5 minute drive. It is easy to work out bus/train connections on the "Transperth" app. Uber rides and Taxi transfer are easy to book. An average Uber from the airport is around 25AUD.

My wife, Jo, and I are the parents of two wonderful children (11 & 15). Jo is an associate professor at Curtin University in Perth. I am a high school teacher and a musician. Both Jo and I love learning about other cultures. We both have traveled in Europe fairly extensively in our younger years. Prior to this Airbnb, we hosted a space in Tasmania (2015-2016) The Cottage is our new listing, as of December 2023.
