Along Strada Maggiore, you can admire many beautiful buildings and churches. Strada Maggiore is also a lively and vibrant area, full of shops, cafes, restaurants, and cultural events. You can watch a movie under the stars at the Piazza Maggiore during the summer, or join the carnival celebrations in February. Why not attending one of the many festivals and concerts that take place in the city, such as the Bologna Jazz Festival, the Biografilm Festival, or the Bologna Children’s Book Fair? Bologna is famous for its rich and delicious cuisine, and you can find many places to taste the local specialties, such as tortellini, tagliatelle, mortadella, and ragù. By Foot: strolling around is one of the best ways to explore Bologna, as the city center is mostly pedestrianized and covered by porticoes.
By bike: Bologna is a bike-friendly city, with many bike lanes and parking areas. You can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations in the city, operated by Mobike or Dynamo.
By Bus: the city bus network is operated by TPER, and covers most of the city and the surrounding areas. You can buy tickets at newsstands, tobacconists, or vending machines, or use the TPER app.
