We absolutely loved our time here. The home and views were stunning. The kids loved the pool, the billiard table and all the games. Dickson was an exceptional chef, he impressed us every day with his meals. Dickson cooked so many amazing seafood and Italian style meals. Melissa is an excellent host. We have lived in East Africa for ten years and this has been our favorite air bnb thus far. The beach wasn't our ideal as we love soft sand and palm trees (the beach is rocky with lots of sea weed) but our family really enjoyed walking out in the ocean with the low tides. A real pleasure to stay here and would highly recommend!

If I was looking to buy a house in the area I would ask our host if she would like to sell! :) The house is very spacious and thus, really comfortable. A big plus is the AC in the bed rooms. The airy breezy terrace under the huge Makuti roof is something else! Swimming in the very large pool is a pleasure to be cherished day and night. A few steps down and you are at a serene beach which you have all to yourself most of the time. There is a great little restaurant at the beach where they also serve delicious cocktails. The staff of the house couldn't be better. The house is kept immaculately clean and chef Dickson spoils you with great food a few times a day. I put on a few pounds, doh! All in all, if you want your very own private realm overlooking the Indian Ocean, then this place is for you.

Simply put, Bottle Bird is a home in paradise. It was so special to stay in a homely environment but with incredible hosts who looked after our every need. We felt so spoilt. The pool is enormous (with its very own baobab for a little bit of shade🤩), the views spectacular, the private beach next door was an authentic local beach - not a tourist trap, and the best part was the team who run the house. We were so spoilt by Dickson the cook, Julias and Elias were so kind and helpful and Hamisi was a great taxi driver. What an incredible holiday - could not recommend enough.

The biggest attraction to this listing is definitely the incredible view and the more than excellent staff. Dickson, Julius and Elias really did make our 5day stay feel like a home away from home. Their attentive responses to every request was beyond appreciated and of course the food!!! Dickson is excellent at everything and really elevated our experience by providing an array of eating options. Travelled with family and the house is really ideal for big groups particularly with kids, though I’d cap that at 8pax which the rooms in the main house adequately cover. The two rooms beyond the main house were comfortable but a lil too tight (particularly the double) for an adult to maneuver for a whole week. We also had a power blackout towards the end of our stay and though there’s a back up generator on site, the supply doesn’t reach the upper floor of the main house or the outside rooms. Aside from that, would definitely recommend especially for that easy beach access 👌🏾.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Melissa's. The food was fantastic, and the pool was huge. Only the villa needs a bit of renovation, everything looks a bit worn. But overall, it was a good stay.
