You’ll be charmed by this restful, cosy place to stay. Hung with Arthur Rackham fairytale prints, locally crafted dried feather flower posy and sumptuously finished with bamboo silk bedlinen. Morning sunshine looks out onto a 13th Century thatched cottage which adds to the peaceful atmosphere. A quality breakfast is served in the dining room or in the south facing garden. Also happy to share my local knowledge with guests looking to relocate/rent/buy in the area. Cosy bedroom on first floor for 1 with workspace and chair. Lovely view of 13th century thatched cottage, bathroom and separate wc opposite. The dining area downstairs is a shared space and can be used anytime for work/socialising. Also shared full Kitchen access with separate access to ample fridge/ freezer in the pale green metal garden shed. Easy level access from a car with private, off road parking. Excellent dining at Cott which is 1 mins walk, booking advisable but not generally essential if you're prepared to eat early. Excellent grocery, post office stores and Indian takeaway 5 mins walk at petrol station. Quiet, peaceful neighbourhood, no road noise, easy access to walk and food without getting in the car. An original style Airbnb. Belinda is genuinely inviting you into her home and you're staying in her spare room. What a shame this is now a rare Airbnb experience. I was made to feel at home as soon as I arrived. So too was my dog. It was also delightful to have breakfast served in the morning. It definitely felt like a home from home.

Dartington is an old village which has managed to retain it's unique semi rural community feel and tucked away charm...there are magical nature walks close by back door and fascinating conversations to be had with friendly locals.
Nearby well stocked Shinners Bridge Stores provide late shopping stores provide organic veg and groceriesand authentic home-cooked Indian takeaway from plus the fantastic Almond Thief bakery & Cafe, Riverford Organic Farm shop is 5 mins drive away where you can buy local organic veg plus artisan products and much more. Superb wholesome food is part of our local landscape. Also Dartington post office & stores.
The steam train from Staverton to Buckfastleigh close by the river Dart makes for a wonderful day out especially the magical family Santa Ride at Christmas.
Neasrest access to stunning Dartmoor walks and ponies are a 10 minute drive away.
1 min walk from the famous Cott lnn, Pub of the Year, booking advisable.
Also 5 mins by car or 15-20 min scenic walk to either Schumacher College or Dartington Hall.
It's a 6 min walk to local shops, groceries, plus authentic homecooked Indian takeaways & organic fruit & veg from Shinners Bridge garage.
5 min walk to the fabulous The Almond Thief artisan cafe/bakery.
Beautiful local stroll in a meadow and woods just outside the house.
Easy and close access to bus stop, outside my house and trains, 5 mins drive away, Bicycles will get you to many local attractions. Private off road parking for house at bottom of drive.

I'm outgoing and love having a good chat about almost anything. Being a chef, amongst other things, good food, mostly organic, is never far from my heart or table and catering for special diets is something I like to do for the visitors. My favourite movies include Dr. Zhivago, About Time, Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended versions) and the Matrix. I enjoy travelling lighter these days... when I had kids it was a different story! I love Venice in the Spring, Rome in Winter and Devon in the Summer! Travel wishlist includes India and Thailand...and many more! I really enjoy taking short breaks in the sun with friends. I can't live without empathic relationships, wholesome food, skincare, yoga and exercise, music and sunshine. I really enjoy informal atmospheres with just enough home comfort and friendliness to make me feel relaxed but free and I appreciate the same in return. My life motto is 'Self care based on your intuition keeps the doctor away' or something like that!
