Bridgewater on Loddon is a quaint town with a rich history, and our Airbnb is conveniently located near local shops, cafes, and attractions. Discover the region's agricultural heritage, visit nearby wineries, or take a scenic drive through picturesque landscapes.
Must sees include the infamous Bridgewater Bakehouse with its award-winning Vanilla Slice, Bridgewater Hotel with its expansive and picturesque beer garden right on the river, The Swimming Hole which is a short 10 minute walk from your accommodation along the picturesque Loddon River. Fancy yourself a coffee conniseur, be sure to check out Coffee on Loddon (it's by far one of our favourites!)
If you fancy yourself an avid skiier or spectator, fisherman and the like, Loddon River is renowned for excellent fishing spots and features many competitions with the Australian Ski Club throughout the warm summer months. Not a fan of water sports or fishing? More of a relax by the water type? The Swimming Hole is the perfect place to relax, is within walking distance (or drive to beat the heat!) and offers BBQ facilities, grassed areas to roll out a picnic rug and bask in the sunshine and country air.
Bridgewater and the whole Loddon area is home to some brilliant art galleries. Be sure to check out Arts of Olde and Secret Platypus on Main Street or Mulwarrie Studios on Serpentine Road (all within walking distance from Loddon Retreat).
On the hunt for a refreshing glass of wine? Bridgewater is home to two award winning vineyards, Water Wheel Wine and Black Wallaby Wines. Be sure to visit their cellar doors for both, a short drive from our Airbnb.
Travel into Inglewood, the neighbouring town, just a short 5 minute drive and take in the endless stream of historical shops sure to delight the lovers of antiques and art. Here you'll find antique stores galore, family owned cafes and hotels and the local IGA supermarket.
Bendigo is easily accessible with a 25 minute drive down the Calder Alternate Hwy, offering plenty for guests to see and do. Renowned for its goldmining history, arts precinct and degustation delights!

While most of central Bridgewater is within walking distance, going further requires a car. Public transport is limited, though the VLine bus does travel from Mildura to Bendigo with stops on the Main Street/Calder Alternate, a short walk from the Airbnb. Be sure to stay updated with PTV should you require the use of public transport.
The main road, Calder Alternate Hwy, offers easy access by car to neighbouring towns. The closest, Inglewood, is a short 5 minute drive for quick supplies. Otherwise, Bendigo is a 30 minute drive to source any additional needs with major supermarkets and shops.
Main Street Bridgewater offers plenty of free on-street parking throughout the cozy town. Please be aware it is quite a popular stopping point during peak periods.
