The 1234 House is wonderful, charming, and filled with an eclectic array of amazing art and beautiful happy plants. When I first walked in, I immediately felt right at home and was greeted with a warm welcome by Evan. My room (Tortoise) was airy, bright and super cute. The bed was really comfortable and had fresh clean linens. The shower was spacious, clean, had decent water pressure and even offered body wash and shampoo. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal, a morning mug of Joe, or cup of tea, and there is plenty of space in the fridge and pantry for your own food items. It was Evan's birthday the first night I showed up and his wonderful community of friends came over to celebrate him. A fun and friendly group of people that were very welcoming and glad to meet me. Their mindful acknowledgment of the late hour and their courteous consideration for their house guests' need for rest left a positive impression on me. I will absolutely be back!

My name is Evan. I'm a native Portlander who has lived, worked and traveled elsewhere but now feel fortunate to be living in my beautiful home town. I recently spent two years leading the complete renovation of this 1902-built house, and very much learning how to do it on the job. I enjoy playing music and going to local live shows, chatting on porches and taking walks in the neighborhood. I used to be a journalist and lived/worked as a writer in Lima, Peru several years ago. Now, running 1234 House is my primary focus.
