This 2nd floor Grand Lodge unit is located right in the heart of Mountaineer Square. Easily access the base area, restaurants, ski lifts, and the free shuttle bus that will take you directly to the heart of Crested Butte--Elk Avenue!
Treasury Liquors is a package and convenience store right across the street from the Grand Lodge. There are a few restaurants and watering holes in the base area, all of which are a short walk away.
After the outdoor activities, the heart of Crested Butte is on Elk Avenue. You will be just steps away from the transit hub that runs a free shuttle to this picturesque main street with activities for the whole family.
I can provide you with my local Guidebook with activities my family and I like in the area. I also have recommendations for our favorite restaurants.
If you want to pick up a large number of supplies, I encourage you to stop first in Gunnison, which is about 35 minutes south and the closest town to Crested Butte.
There is a gas station and Ace Hardware located at 607 6th St. in Crested Butte. They sell home goods as well, so they are a good local stop if you are looking for something you forgot to bring from home.

Parking: Your room comes with a parking pass for one vehicle. You will receive this from the hotel front desk when picking up your key and will need to display this when you park. The building management has sole discretion to issue an additional parking pass, but that is something we have no control over. They will not issue additional passes during peak season. If you have the need to park an additional vehicle, the Elevation Hotel & Spa just down the street offers paid parking options.
You will certainly want to experience Elk Avenue! There is limited parking downtown, so we strongly recommend using the free shuttle service, The Mountain Express, which is a great part of the complete Crested Butte Experience!
Free Shuttle: Search for “The Mountain Express” the free local shuttle bus. On their website you can find route maps and timetables. This is the best place to go for up-to-date information.
Ski Lifts: The closest lift is “Red Lady” which is about a two minute walk from the Grand Lodge. As you leave the front door of the Grand Lodge, you can follow signage through the base area to make your way to the lift.
Equipment Rental: Peak Sports and Crested Butte Sports are great rental shops in the base area.
