Bar Ang Guesthouse offers a fun green oasis within 1k of the city. We are known for service, food, scooters, tours, karaoke and info. As we are new to Airbnb please read our previous reviews on social media platforms like TripAdvisor et al for BAR ANG. We look forward to making you feel at home and like family. We speak English well too as half of the team is Canadian eh. Bar Ang in Battambang Guesthouse is an extension of our restaurant of the same name. Upon receiving many requests for rooms we have made up 2 for our guests. People stay here because we are happy to make you feel like family. We are known for our service, food, scooters & motorcycles,tours and info. The rooms are like a hospital ward being very clean and bright but sterile so far but they lack a soul yet but the restaurant and garden area is the opposite and the real attraction of why one stays with us. But please do not take my word for it. Read our previous reviews on social media platforms like TripAdvisor to see why you'll want to hang out with us while in Battambang. If you go to Battanbang this is the place. You'll feel at home but they will take care of you better than a 5 stars hotel. We find two big basket of fresh fruit in the room and water. So John make for us an ananas smoothie (woderful) just to say welcome. The room is very comfortable and clean with a really good bed. Upstairs there is their restaurant where Anut will cook for you really amazing dinner. In the morning they pick us up to have breakfast with them and in a while we feel like we are with friends not just host. The centre of the town is not far and you can go around on foot and reach the longriver easily. This is a really, really special place to stay in. And one of the best restaurant we've found in a month around Cambodia. And we have found a lot of very good place ...but this is special.
Anut and John are great hosts. They know a lot about the area, cook great food and are always available for questions and little talks. Highly recommend staying there!
Très bonne adresse pour un séjour à Battangban. Outre la bonne petite chambre avec salle de bain impeccable, John propose d'autres services comme location de motos et scooters. Toujours à l'écoute pour rendre votre séjour le plus agréable possible. Sa femme fait un excellent Amok, une délicieuse glace coco et les jus de fruits maison sont goûteux.
In 3 months of travelling SEA, I've never encountered such fun and amazing hosts. John and Anut took us for breakfast every morning at their little local places, took us on a backcountry tour and a trip to the local market the very first hour of us arriving. The rooms were clean, well-equipped and the bathroom was spotless and had warm water. The restaurant is one of the biggest draws though, as John makes some mean cocktails with fresh juice while Anut makes the best amok I've ever tasted and possibly some of the best food in our travels so far. Her homemade coconut ice cream is to die for. But again, what you really pay for is the company of two excellent and goofy hosts. If we ever go back to Battambang, we hope that John and Anut are still open to taking guests.
John and Anut are wonderful people! We had a great time with them, always ready to help us out, they gave us so much information about the city and the country and they showed us the neighborhood and the local life! The place is full of coconut trees, we took a nap on the hamac, nice place to rest! And of course the room was very cozy and clean. Finally, be sure to try their restaurant (we loved the amok) ! Ochar village is a great Khmer family area just beside the downtown core. Our big beautiful 2nd floor deck offers a fantastic and breezy view of the busy street below where one can watch the locals go about their day and night. The train blast by just 100m from us. Goats often try to steal fruit from our roadside stand. We are cat people too and often have kittens for kids to enjoy. The back yard is an oasis from the heat and has cool water and shade and hamocks to hang out in.
The best way to get around is by scooter or tuk tuk taxi which we have both of especially scooters of which Ms.Fabulous had 30.
