I would give Roger 5 stars for attentiveness and quick responses but my score is primarily regarding the situation of this being a basement apartment with upstairs tenants. The issue was they checked out around 3am and we're very loud in doing so.

Our stay at Roger's Airbnb was a mix of positives and challenges. The lower-floor unit was spacious and comfortably housed our family of six, meeting our space needs well. However, our experience was compromised by noise from the upstairs neighbors. Despite Roger's clear rules about noise levels, we were disturbed by loud music from 11pm to 7am, talking, and stomping throughout the night, disrupting our sleep. I even had to address the noise with the upstairs guests directly—a situation I feel guests shouldn't have to manage. Additionally, we were not informed about the thin walls of the unit beforehand, which would have been a crucial factor in our decision to stay. While the unit itself was satisfactory, the noise issues significantly affected our overall experience, especially for the amount we paid for our stay. We missed some activities because we were so tired and didn’t sleep well. Future guests should consider this, especially if seeking a quiet environment.

Great location, however I was not happy that there is one thermostat that is located in the upstairs unit so we had no control over the temperature in our unit. We slept with the windows up each night due to the temperature in the unit. The noise from the top unit was unbearable. The walls and floor are VERY thin so you can literally hear and smell everything from the other unit. There were kids in the other unit while we were there and it was horrible. Literally can hear them running, playing, dropping items starting as early as 6am in the morning. It’s really like the noise in these units are amplified. The bathroom was not cleaned to our expectations. When we got there it was hair on the floor and toilet and dead spiders in webs hanging from the ceiling in the shower. Lastly, it rained really bad here last night and we woke up to the kitchen floor soak and wet when we walked on it. Water was coming up through the laminate (only when we stepped by the stove and fridge).

Roger is a wonderful owner and replied quickly to every concern we had.. I would recommend this place to anyone!
