The apartment is located in a prestigious residence in Acicastello, directly on the sea, offering a breathtaking view of the crystal clear water. This property boasts two spacious terraces, equipped with outdoor furniture and a fully equipped independent kitchen, perfect for cooking and dining outdoors. On the first floor, you will find a modern and fully equipped kitchen, ideal for preparing delicious meals. The living room is the ideal place to relax, with a welcoming environment and a panoramic view. There are two bedrooms: a spacious double bedroom and a single bedroom, both tastefully furnished. Furthermore, there are two bathrooms, ensuring maximum convenience for guests.

On the plus side, we felt secure and well positioned to access the community services. The complex was pretty and there was a sea view. However, several things were wrong. Firstly, it should have been clear there were 34 narrow spiral stairs to navigate. Only one problem (non working bedroom TV) was dealt with. The toaster was not replaced, there was no microwave, the living room lamp did not work, all of which were reported. The kitchen was only minimally equipped, except for the cutlery drawer. Check out was a farce involving my 80 year old travel partner having to sprint back up those 34 stairs to leave the keys inside before the entry gate closed. This apartment needs some serious maintenance, including replacement of the screens and shutters. We were eaten alive by mosquitoes after three days of rain.

Excellent location, peaceful, and the most comfortable bed; fast communication from rental agents. Condo is kind of like a double scoop ice cream cone--outer door is at bottom of cone so you walk up 34-step spiral staircase, past the first floor apartment that has no access to your staircase and up to the top level entry into your circular living space. Ground level patio outside is private with a lovely patio kitchen & additional bathroom. Listing says host meets you, but I was told to drive 20 minutes away to Catania to pick up keys. As this was out of my way, they found an agent to deliver the keys per my request, thank you! You'll be sent a long, formal, digital lease agreement to sign before check in. Check out was a bit awkward--drive or walk down to the neighborhood's automatic gate (which requires the key to open), leave your vehicle or human to block it from closing, walk back up & ascend stairs to apartment and leave keys on table, then walk back down, out to gate & exit.

Aci Castello, a town incorporated into the Catania hinterland, is located in a large inlet on the eastern Sicilian coast, at the foot of a basaltic rock. The lava from the eruption of 1169 joined it to the coast and it represented the fulcrum of the development of the entire Aci territory in the Middle Ages.
Today in Aci Castello there is a museum which displays various archaeological finds, especially underwater ones, which attest to their ancient frequency, while one of its terraces houses a botanical garden.
Worth visiting in Acicastello is the Castle which, after having been subjected to various lordships and besieged several times, was later granted to the bishops of Catania who, right here, in 1126, received the relics of Saint Agatha, brought back to their homeland from Constantinople.
