The Royal William Yard was constructed between 1825 and 1831 as a victualing yard for the Royal Navy. Between 2000 and 2007 the listed buildings were expertly refurbished to provide the luxury apartments and high-end restaurants that exist today.
The Royal William Yard has become a gastro-hub with fashionable eateries producing great quality food. The Yard boasts establishments such as Hugh Fearnly Whittingstalls River Cottage using all local, organic produce; Le Bistro Pierre's French cuisine, Les Vignoble wine bar with over 250 wines, champagnes and liquers, Las Igaunas Mexican restaurant and The Seco Lounge providing great bar food in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Also on site are Art Galleries and a boutique clothing store. There is also a wonderful bakery which offers freshly baked breads, cakes and biscuits.
Open air cinemas, theatrical performances and local food and farmers markets are some of the many events that happen throughout the year in this vibrant development.
There is a regular ferry service in operation from the Royal William Yard marina to both Mount Edgecumbe country park and the Barbican, Plymouth's historic quarter.

Public transport is available close by as is bicycle rental. You can even catch a water taxi to the local historical quarter from right outside the apartment!
