Joli Sauvage is located in the French Ardennes, a beautiful area where it seems as if time has stood still. An excellent place to completely relax. Enjoy the unspoilt nature, the whistling of the birds and the rustling of the trees near the lake on our property. Discover the hilly surroundings, walking or by (motor) bike. Admire the breathtaking starry sky while enjoying a nice glass of wine... Come experience it all! We would like to extend a warm welcome to you! You will stay in a romantic holiday home with its own entrance and unobstructed view of the meadows, garden and trees. When completed in 2023, we took into account a sustainable method of construction, so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay in all seasons. The gite measures 28m2 and is ideally suited for 2 (max 3) people. The cozy space is equipped with every comfort and consists of an open living/sleeping area. This contains the kitchen, dining table and a seating area with two comfortable armchairs. Furthermore, this room has a comfortable bed (160x200) and a small mezzanine with a second bed (140x200). There is also a luxurious bathroom, which can be closed with a wooden sliding door. The high ceiling (highest side 3.60 m) gives the whole a spacious feeling. Sufficient light enters through the two double garden doors and the skylight. Outside you have 2 terraces at your disposal, one of which has a barbecue.​ _________________________________________________________________________________ Uphill in a small hamlet, on the edge of the village of Montgon, is the domain that we purchased in 2014. Besides an old and dilapidated house where plants grew inside, there was also a great nature reserve with two lakes. The house has now been renovated and we have completed an extension containing the gite (2023).​ The domain is 1.5 hectares, most of which is and remains a nature reserve. Because of its rugged character we have given it the name Joli Sauvage. It is an ideal place for all kinds of wildlife. We regularly see deer, wild boars, foxes, squirrels and all kinds of birds (of prey). There are also carp, wild ducks and the occasional coypu swimming in the large lake. It is therefore not very suitable for swimming. Nevertheless, you can enjoy the unspoilt nature, the silence, the whistling of the birds and the rustling of the trees. Nice to start the day with a morning walk around the lake (when there is the best chance of seeing wild animals). Or relax with a good book until evening falls and it becomes too dark to read any further.....​
