Isolated, but so peaceful. We were lucky enough to be the only guests and had the resort and beach to ourselves. The host was amazing, he had the unique ability to be attentive, but also very unobtrusive. Thoughtful extra touches included fresh coconuts and the offer of tea and coffee, served in china. Great, plentiful Sri Lankan meals, cooked fresh. Can't thank them enough for making us feel like royalty.
Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt. Den Strand sozusagen für uns alleine und das Essen war auch super. Großartiges Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis. Uns wurde geholfen, wenn wir Anliegen hatten und auch Tips für unsere Weiterreise gegeben. Wir können die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen.
The host and staff are very attentive and treated me with great hospitality. They support local businesses and people by buying ingredients/food from them. Also, thanks to the people at Sallithivu Guesthouse, I was able to meet local people, learn about the wild plants in the near environment (the Sallithivu island hosts endemic plants only, some of them found exclusively on this island!), experience the traditions of the Burgher community in Batticaloa and visit a Mosque. All in all, a very enriching experience, far away from touristic masses and close to local life.
Wer die Einsamkeit liebt und nichts anderes unternehmen will, für den ist die Unterkunft geeignet Wir sind früher abgereist, da das Meer zu der Zeit nicht zum Baden geeignet war. This was our second stay at Sallitivu. We love the place. It is private with a great walkable beach and easy Sea swimming, even in the off season. Communication was easy and the staff was kind and helpful. If you want to relax in an isolated place, walk by the sea and be a part of the rhythm of local village life, this place is perfect. Simple, very clean, very comfortable.

Hello! At Sallitivu Guesthouse we're keen for you to have a pleasant stay. Let us know if you have any questions. We are Gehan, who is onsite at Sallitivu managing the Guesthouse, and Javed, who is offsite but can help respond to your questions. Gehan has extensive experience in hospitality. He will be at Sallitivu during your stay to make sure your stay is comfortable. Javed lives in Australia but is able to handle guests' questions if any issues arise.
