Birgu · 整套出租单元 · 1室0床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Birgu No.25 apartment 3
This fully airconditioned apartment forms part of a recently renovated traditional 250-year-old townhouse in Malta’s old capital, Birgu. It was designed by local March Architects to the highest standard and all of the original features have been retained. It's located on Birgu's main street close to restaurants, museums, bus stations, cafes, and the ferry to Valletta. It's a perfect property for a couple to explore the Three Cities, Grand Harbour and the rest of the island. The space was designed by local architects to high standards, with marble tops and wooden furnishings. Original features such as the Maltese floor tiles and Maltese balcony have been restored. Please not that the kitchenette only has a microwave oven, a fridge and a coffee maker and sink. There is no hot plate! Also, as beautiful as the church is, it's not just for show and the bells do ring!
Great experience, the Apartment was very nice and in great location. Very good place to stay!
Andrew was an excellent host - extremely personable guy, great response time and gave us some local recommendations. Was even kind enough to have some flexibility with checkin time. The apartment was beautiful, in a perfect quiet location by the harbour. Much more of a neighbourhood feel than staying in Valletta, the roof terrace is also a nice escape. Easy to get to Valletta via boat or short Uber ride. Absolutely loved my stay, I would highly recommend considering Andrews place if you’re planning on staying in Malta - especially suitable for couples!
Andrew’s apartment is a gem of Malta as Birgu as well. The city is welcoming and fascinating. The apartment is wonderful, has an ancient floor, peculiar doors and windows; the upper balcony is enchanting, sadly we weren’t able to enjoy it enough due to the excessive wind of these days. The bells ring sometimes at 7 am but personally it wasn’t a problem. Only flaw: it would have been nice if there were also stoves, so that we could cook and perhaps spend a longer stay. Overall Andrew was very kind, helpful and precise and always available for any tip. remark for Italians/European: there’s no bidet 🥲 I hope to have the opportunity to return soon there. Thanks again for all!
Birgu is special because it has so much history and has remained mostly untouched by the construction that has overcome the island. Many locals still live in Birgu, so you'll be able to experience what Maltese towns used to be like. It's a quiet town, except for when the village feast is on! (2 weekends in August)
I think the best way to really explore Malta is by renting a scooter or a car. There is some parking around the property but there is loads of parking around 100m from the property. You can also get around using taxi apps (Bolt or Uber) or by (free) public transport. You can explore Birgu and the rest of the area by foot and catch the ferry to Valletta (10 min walk to the terminal) which leaves every 30 minutes (:00 and :30).
